Ready to Take Off

Here's Elle's new trick. She's standing by herself, but no steps yet. Any day now and she's going to be off and running.

Scarlett's first REAL haircut

Scarlett had a teeny tiny trim to get rid of her baby mullet around 18 months, but hasn't had a haircut since. Gigi had to fix that for us this weekend! Those curls were getting out of control, so she got a little trim, some layering and now she's looking fabulous!

Elle's Birthday Party

We celebrated Elle's first birthday last weekend at the carousel. It was a little early, since she won't turn 1 until July 8th, but it was the only time we could get everyone together! It was pretty hot, but luckily we opted for the 9am party time, so it wasn't as hot as it could have been! Elle and all the kids loved the carousel and we had it all to ourselves for 2 hours.

Enjoying her cake! She really dove in, but then got upset when she was caked in frosting.

We really enjoyed seeing all our family for the weekend. Elle did too...even if she didn't act like it! Haha...the girl wouldn't go to ANYONE but me. She got lots of fun presents that she's been enjoying all week.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all our great daddies! We got to spend the day with Cameron which was a real treat after the past week of being on call every other day (not to mention he's been working the past few weekends too). He was on call yesterday, so we crammed all our weekend fun into today. We visited the insectarium. The girls really liked it. Elle was much more into it this time. She was grabbing at the glass trying to catch the bugs. Scarlett alternated between talking about how cool and almost in tears from fear.

The girls both loved the butterflies. Elle kept pointing at them all.

Who's Ready to Party??

Less than a week and we are going to be celebrating this girl's very first birthday - Minnie Mouse style!! We can't wait!

Happy Birthday Cameron!

Happy Birthday Cameron! We tried to celebrate last night, but a power outage cut our hibachi dinner short (we got soup and salad, but no food!). We picked up burritos instead and enjoyed the awesome mint cookie ice cream delicious that the girls and I made yesterday morning and a couple presents before it got too late last night. He's working today, but hopefully we'll have time for a little more celebration time before the girls go to bed tonight!

Princess Ballet Camp "Recital" Part 3

She really had the BEST time this week. She is dying to go back. The next camp they offer is tumbling and now she's begging to go to that!

Working hard...like Cinderella

Scarlett found this dress in her closet and decided it was just like Cinderella's "working hard" dress. (It's actually a dress her grandparents brought her back from Germany a couple years ago). She started singing "Sweep, sweep, nightingale." Love it. It actually kind of makes sense...maybe those should be the real lyrics!

Then she soon got tired of working hard and got ready for the ball. Her arms are blurry because she's twirling.
And in the meantime, this one loves to dress up too. She likes to put everything on her head. Here she's going for Aloha Kitty.

Aquarium MADNESS

Tuesday's trip to the aquarium absolutely wore me out! It all started out well and good...there were fish, penguins, playtime...then we heard the rain move in right as we were leaving for nap time. Well, we thought we'd just get a little wet (maybe a lot wet). Then we got a little closer to the exit and saw it was also hailing. Well, so much for the run for it plan. We ended up there an extra hour and a half. Guess the parking guys were happy for my extra money :o)

We tried to get a picture of the crew. Haha...like we had a chance of a good one there! 6 kids 3 and under - Grayson, Scarlett, Elle, Chloe, Raymond and Emma. Yeah, Elle didn't want to take a picture. The other picture I got had the other 5 sort of looking and the very tail end of Elle as she took off out of the clam.

We did get to check out the new Parakeet exhibit. You can buy a stick of food to feed them. Scarlett thought it was all well and cute while the bird looked at her stick, but the minute he tried to actually climb on it she screamed and threw it. Haha... She was screaming left and right as the birds came to "attack" her. Elle thought they were fun though!

Ballet girl

Scarlett is LOVING princess ballet camp. The first day was rough because her shoes hurt, but once we got that fixed up, she's doing great! She follows along with the teacher and reports that she has lots of fun! This afternoon she looked at me and said "Mommy, can you say 'Arabesque'? My teacher showed me that today." Then she demonstrated for me. She told me all about her tutus and her tiaras that she gets to wear and the teacher had "Jasmine music!" 2 more days of camp, then I'm not sure what I'll do with the girl :o)

11 months

Our little stinker is 11 months old today!!

Time to gear up for the birthday party, just 2 1/2 weeks away!! Can't believe she's almost 1!

7 years

On Saturday Cameron and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary. He was post call and left again today for the oral surgery fishing trip, so we decided not to make big plans. We spent a family day at the Children's Museum (something we had hoped to do the weekend before that didn't pan out!). We all had a good time!

Her new favorite toy...Scarlett's glowdoodle. She actually knows how to draw with it (when the pen isn't shoved in her mouth)
She found something shiny peeking out from under the couch. She insisted it go in her hair.
Another favorite pastime. She knows the princess bin. And the best part is to pull it out halfway and start chucking small plastic princesses all over the floor behind her.
And don't you dare leave a sippy cup unattended. She WILL find it.
