Pancake Breakfast

Bear pancakes are nothing new for us. I grew up with them and make them for my girls too. I saw a new variation on pinterest and tried them Saturday morning. The girls loved them! The pancakes were chocolate chip, so Elle dug her hands in the chocolate & licked them saying "mmmm chocolate."

Zoo Day

We went to the zoo today for the first time in about a year. The girls were thrilled. I didn't intend on seeing every animal, but they excitedly ran from one thing to the next. I renewed our zoo membership for our (can you believe it!) last year here. We will be seeing much more of the zoo, aquarium and insectarium this year.

Aquarium Field Trip

Today was a very exhausting PK4 field trip to the Aquarium.  The preschoolers are no longer allowed to ride busses, so all the parents drove the kids down to the Aquarium.  It was complete chaos, but the girls had a great time.  They really cared pretty much nothing about seeing the fish, but it was a big hand holding, playtime extravaganza for the girl friends.

Scarlett, Sophie and Olivia talking to a penguin.  He kept swimming up to them and following their hands through the glass.

Scarlett and BFF Sophie in the frogs

Had 3 of these and none were all that great, but here's Scarlett and Elle with Haley and Olivia and her little sister.

The girls with a seahorse

This one turned out cute of Scarlett, Haley and Karissa

My Little Artist

Every year the mall showcases art from all the Catholic schools in the area.  Each school has a display with a couple pieces of art from each grade level.  Scarlett was representing PreK for St. Philip this year!  So proud of her!

Rocking Out

Elle is rocking out as Barbie Princess and the Popstar in her "rockstaw dwess", Rapunzel hat and Barbie guitar.  The audio sounded a bit like this "Again and again and again and again and again".  It's the end of the Barbie song, but it seems to be the only part she knows (or likes), so it just goes on again and again and again.

St. Patrick's Day Picture

I tried to get the girls to take a required holiday portrait on St. Patrick's Day.  It didn't really go well...

Elle: "I trying to help sissy up!"

Looking super enthused

Yep, that's the best it's going to get.  Oh, I had to fight Elle to get that precious green dress on her.  She finally conceded IF she could wear the purple leggings.  So, a tad bit of Mardi Gras it was.  Scarlett was upset that she wasn't head to toe green.  She thought she would get pinched if she wore any other color BUT green.

Sassy Pants

Love this picture I took of Elle today. It captures her little sass!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! A leprechaun with his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. By Scarlett.

Got this one in her school folder today. I was impressed!

Princess Stories

Lately Elle has started really watching and paying attention to the princess movies. She's always liked playing with the princesses, but now that she is watching the movies she is really starting to figure out their stories.

This morning she told me "Cinderella dances wif da prince and den she loses her shoe!" Then she wanted to put on her Cinderella dress and shoes and act it out for me.

This afternoon had been all about Rapunzel. (Spoiler alert if you do not live in princess land and have not seen the movie). "Why Flynn Wyder cut her hair? Why mommy?" I explain in detail about how Rapinzel's hair is magic and Mother Gothel had kept Rapunzel in prison to use her magic and when Flynn cuts her hair, her magic goes away and Mother Gothel turns to dust and then Rapunzel can live in her kingdom as the princess. "But what about her tiara?" I explain she still wears one with her short brown hair. "But WHY Flynn Wyder cut her hair? To make yikes go away?" I answer yes! "I no cut my hair!" Well ok then.

And on one final princess note, I have finally convinced her to let me pull her hair up halfway. I call it her "Belle hair" and she's totally into it.

City Park Day

Last weekend we had a birthday party at the City Park carousel. It was a rainbow and unicorn themed party and the girls had a great time! We stopped into Storyland after the party. The girls always love it there, so we had to pop in and let them run around.

Strawberry Picking

We went to Mrs. Heather's Strawberry patch today for the opening weekend of strawberry season.  We picked half a flat and had some playtime too.

I'm always on a quest to get cute posed pictures of Elle, but she rarely cooperates.  She gave me about 3 minutes today

Sleeping Elle

A couple weeks ago Elle suddenly decided to start using a pillow and blanket.  It was the craziest thing.  She went from sleeping all over the bed with no covers to sleeping like a regular person.  She's becoming a big girl!
