Seaside

We've spent the last 5 days in Seaside enjoying the beach!  The first day was a little chilly so we played mini golf, but the next 3 days were beautiful, so there was lots of this:

Scarlett loved the water this time.  She ran and ran and ran splashing into the waves.  Elle was much more into the sand toys.  Cameron asked her to go in the water and she would yell "no no!".  Finally on the last day she gave it a try and loved it!  We couldn't get her back out.  She was giggling as the waves hit her feet.

Here's all the rest of the pictures:

Spanish Fiesta

Scarlett's school put on a Spanish Fiesta this year.  Each class dressed up and did a song and dance in Spanish.  Scarlett's class danced to an elephant song.  I have no idea what it was about...I don't speak Spanish!

Here's the video.  Excuse the shakiness...I was trying to film, watch and prevent Elle from taking off.  Sorry!   Scarlett is front row, far left.  She did great!

Full Day School Girl

Scarlett got to stay for her very first FULL day of school yesterday. She's been begging all year and since the year is almost up, we decided to let her stay for a few days.  She got to eat lunch with her friends and take a nap on her new awesome mat.  She was SO excited!  She did really well with it too!  No nap, but she did rest quietly.

21 Months

Elle turned 21 months old on Sunday.  We almost have a 2 year old again!  Seems not that long ago Scarlett was 2.  Anyway, that little stinker is already hitting the terrible 2's hard!  She is one hard headed little thing.  She wants her way and she wants it NOW!  She's already become quite the fashionista.  She adores shoes and insists on picking out her own shoes every day.  I learned the hard way not to take her to the shoe aisle of Target unless you are willing to let her try on every pair AND take them home.  She also loves her clothes.  She prefers a dress with a princess on it (although oddly enough, princesses aren't her favorite toys).  She will only wear princess night gowns to bed.  I stand in front of her closet with her every morning showing her option after option to which she replies "no, no".  At this age, Scarlett's whole world was princesses.   Elle's a little more flexible.  She loves dress up (especially the shoe part), stuffed animals and BAH-BIE's.  She also adores books.  Some of her favorites are Biscuit (a yellow puppy), Barbie (duh), and her newest favorite Abby (of Sesame Street).  Lately she's also been begging to look at pictures in our Shutterfly books.  She doesn't recognize her daddy from a year ago.  She calls him "Daddy Hulk."  She's still sleeping like a champ in her big girl bed.  I sit her in it and she lays down and goes to sleep.  She is my good little sleeper.  She also starting to ask to go potty.  She likes to imitate Scarlett and sit on the potty.  Hopefully that bodes well for the potty training!  She may be a little stinker and a "disaster baby", but we sure do love her!

Here's one of the rare moments she's still.  She LOVES to swing.  She would swing all day and night if we let her "Weee!"

Zoo Playdate

We braved the spring break crowds to go to the zoo today.  The kids had a good time (although with 7 kids, there was one having a meltdown at just about every point of our visit).  Fun times with the little ones!

Here's 5 of our 7 little monkeys

Easter

We had a nice quiet Easter at home this year.  The girls woke up early (as usual) and came down to see what the Easter bunny brought.  Luckily they were up before Cameron had to leave for work, so he got to be here for the big Easter basket reveal too.  The girls got new outfits, books, coloring books, hairbows, Lalaloopsy dolls, Dumbo on blu ray and a little bit of candy.  Scarlett also got makeup (after the tragic loss of the Bippity Boppity Boutique makeup).  We spent a good part of the morning outside enjoying the weather.  Instead of cooking, we decided to go out to Easter dinner at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro.  Here's a few pictures from the day!

Seeing what the bunny brought!

Makeup!

And then finding the hidden eggs

That mouth is crammed FULL of jelly beans.  She was running from me and putting in as many as she possibly could.

Sweet girls in their Easter best!

Oh, and that tiny stinker there is 21 months old today!  Wow...so close to 2 (and already in the terrible two's - but that's another post for another day!)

School Easter Party

Today was Scarlett's Easter party at school.  We had a whole day of Easter fun!  I didn't get too many great pictures because I was busy trying to wrangle Elle who wanted to be a part of EVERYTHING.

It was an extra special day because Scarlett was snack leader.  She gets to bring snack, sit at the front for circle time and be the special helper, bring a show & tell, be line leader, and lead the class in their prayer.  It's a BIG deal!

Here she is with her show & tell.

After circle time, they had an egg hunt.  They had to do it in the class this year because we've had such crazy storms that everything is so muddy outside.  (See what I mean...Elle is trying to get someone else's egg!)

After the egg hunt, they had snack & then did their center time & dyed eggs.

And I missed just the first few seconds, but here's Scarlett leading snacktime prayer

And in case you were wondering, here's what I whipped up for the kids' snack today.  I think they turned out really cute!  Everyone seemed to like them too!

Toddler Easter Egg Hunt

Elle & I went to the moms club Easter egg hunt this morning.  There was a great turnout...tons of kids Elle's age.  It took Elle a minute to catch on to the egg hunting idea, but once she did, she filled her basket, then opened all the eggs looking for "nimmie nimms"

Dying Eggs

We started Easter festivities this weekend by dying some eggs on Sunday.  Have you ever dyed eggs with a 1 year old?  Yikes.  Most of them ended up smashed...we got a few good ones in though!

First off, here's my little bunnies

That's Scarlett's prize egg right there.  No cracks and 50 stickers.  And Elle's smashing a few more for good measure.

We won't be entering a beautiful egg competition or anything, but the girls had fun and that's the whole point right?!?
