What's Elle up to?

She's eating, sleeping, playing and getting to be a really big girl!! She's even starting to bust out of some of her 0-3 month clothes. She's a chunk - just like Scarlett was!

Playing can be VERY tiring

First Week of School

The first week started a little rough, but ended up great! Monday Scarlett cried (just like every other screaming kid in that classroom) and they had to pull her in. When I picked her up, she went on and on about how she had fun and they sang songs and danced and she drew a picture and they had goldfish and juice. Tuesday was our worst day! She was SCREAMING when we got to the door, threw herself on the ground and the teacher had to pick her up and drag her in, only to have her throw up all over the floor because she got herself so worked up. They called me (I was still in the parking lot) to come and get her and I had to take her home in case it was a virus (it wasn't). We had Wednesday off. We went to Wal-Mart and Scarlett picked out a baby Ariel doll. We sat her on top of the fridge and kept telling her as soon as she was a big girl at school, she could have Ariel. There were a few complaints on Thursday, but we kept reminding her that if she was good she got Ariel. She made it all the way in the classroom before she started crying. I have to tell you, the scene made me want to cry too! Haha...20 screaming 2 year olds and only one teacher at that point. Yikes!! As soon as the teacher got to her to take her from me, Scarlett went willingly. When I picked her up, the teacher said she had an awesome day! She dried her tears quick in the morning and was happy all day. Friday there were no complaints, just gave me a quick kiss and walked in the class with no tears! She just loves it there. Every day she tells me how she had so much fun drawing pictures, singing songs, dancing, playing with the other kids, playing outside and always has a report on snacktime. She couldn't wait to get in the class this morning. She ran to the door and knocked herself, then as soon as that door was open she was running in and I was throwing her bag after her :o)

Here's some of her art work from the week:

They painted with shaving cream and food coloring. Scarlett said they painted her hands and it was pink and cold. She also said she put a snake on the picture.

Here's another of the coloring pages they did last week.

First day of school!

Thursday was Scarlett's first day of preschool! She's been so excited about it for a long time now! We went together to see her classroom and meet her teacher - Ms. Amy. I stayed with her for the first hour, then all the parents left and those poor poor teachers had screaming 2 year olds alone for an hour. When I came back, the first thing Scarlett told me was "I have FUN!". Ms. Amy said she had a little freak out when I left (and ended up wetting herself), but after she got changed, she was happy again and was fine the rest of the time. Scarlett reported they read two stories - Alice in Wonderland and I Love You Bear and they sang a song about a bumblebee. She told me she had new friends too. I'm so excited for her to start this year. I think she's really going to love it! Here's my precious little preschooler!

Happy Birthday!

To me...the big 2-7 and to Elle...one month old!!

Here's the baby girl...growing up so fast already!

Me and my girls
And here's all four of us
I had a great birthday weekend. We took Elle for her very first outing to brunch at Copeland's, then we came home for cake and presents. It was a fun birthday and lots of great goodies :o)

Princesses

Scarlett likes to pass out princesses to everyone in the family. One night as I was fixing dinner she brought me Sleeping Beauty and her prince. Cameron got Cinderella and the prince. I should have known she wouldn't leave out Baby Elle :o)

Found this after we ate dinner. See her secret friend?

A few days later I was trying to get Scarlett dressed in the morning. She insisted on wearing one of her three favorite dresses (that I'm really getting sick of seeing!). I was trying to convince her to wear something else and here's how I did it.

Me: Scarlett would you like to wear this blue dress?
Scarlett: Nope, I wear the purple soft dress (the one I see every other day).
Me: But this one is so PRETTY! It's blue AND it has sparkles. JUST LIKE Cinderella!
Scarlett: Ok!
Me: Ok, can I put your bloomers on?
Scarlett: No way!
Me: But PRINCESSES wear bloomers.
Scarlett: OK!
Me: Can I put your hair in a pony tail please?
Scarlett: NO!
Me: But if you put your hair in a ponytail, you can put in this beautiful tiara.
Scarlett: OK!

I have found the secret to getting her dressed!

And my final princess story of the day...

We went to the Disney store this week and I should have known it was about time for those Halloween costumes to start appearing! Scarlett started pulling them off the racks and holding them up to her. I decided to let her try one on. Well, naturally she also had to try on the tiara, wand and shoes. And then admire herself in the mirror. I honestly thought I was not going to get her out of that thing to leave the store!!

"Cool"

We had "cool" time this morning. That's what Scarlett refers to the pool as. She is right, it IS pretty cool. Of course Elle doesn't quite think so.

"Mom, it's so HOT. Why I am outside? In AUGUST? In NEW ORLEANS?"
Because sister needs playtime. In the "cool".
My head is sweating.
Still having a ball

And Elle gives it up and passes out from the heat.
