Pasadena River
Welcome to Southeast Louisiana. We had a little rain today, and well, that resulted in a little river down Pasadena. Luckily the water never got higher than this, so Cameron's baby "white car" (as Scarlett calls it) was safe!
Here's Scarlett surveying the river. Yeah, you like her "jacket"? That's a 0-3 month onesie she's sporting. She pulled it out of her baby doll clothes and insisted on wearing it. Still buttons, but notice the little feet right at her butt. Haha. She wore this thing for HOURS today.
Here's Scarlett's take on the situation.

Santa Pictures
We went for Scarlett's Santa pictures today. I was all excited that she'd do GREAT since this was her 4th time to sit on his lap, but I think the picture part freaked her out, because she didn't cooperate quite as well as I would have liked. The picture came out ok - not great.
*UPDATED* Here's the scanned copy

She was, of course a HUGE fan of the train - as always. Grayson and Will are in the car with her.

Scarlett's Build a Bear Party
We had a great birthday weekend! Thanks to everyone who made the trip down and for all our friends that joined us at Build a Bear! Scarlett had a great time!
Here's the precious little birthday girl
Scarlett picked out a girl moose to stuff and dress.
After stuffing, she gave her a really long bath!!

After bears, we headed to tables in the food court for cake and presents. Scarlett especially enjoyed the icing.
Back at home Scarlett took a little nap (finally) and when she got up she had more presents from her grandparents, aunts and uncle, followed by dinner of "tea fries" aka Canes chicken fingers, fries and sweet tea (along with some other yummy sides), and finally, the thing she had been waiting for for months...Barbie cake!!
Happy Second Birthday baby girl!

Scarlett likes "Cheese"
We had spaghetti for dinner tonight. As I always do, I made spaghetti noodles for Cameron and I and mini bowties for Scarlett (just easier for her to eat). She normally downs her food without a second glance at ours, but not tonight. She kept eyeing my plate, then Cameron's plate and telling me she wanted cheese too. Ummm...ok, well there was no cheese to be seen. Tried to tell her to eat her pasta, but she said "no, mommy cheese". Then proceeded to start grabbing and downing my spaghetti noodles. "Nummy NUMMY CHEESE!!" Haha...that girl is so silly! But she ate and ate and ate that "cheese".

Happy Second Birthday Scarlett!
Our baby girl turned 2 today! She was SO excited. She's been telling me "my birthday Tuesday" for a few days now. She was most excited about "birthday cake and presents". We had playdate this morning so she got to play with her friends Will and Grayson, then we came home and after an unsuccessful attempt at a nap, she opened presents and we ate dinner and birthday brownies! (I thought cake today, cupcakes Saturday morning and cake Saturday night was a bit overkill on the cake thing...). Scarlett especially loved the icing.
Toting around her presents while waiting for Daddy to come downstairs

Starting to open - she got a new baby doll from Grandma and Grandpa Barnes. She LOVES it! It's in her bed right now. She loves that it came with "shampoo" so she can give her a bath.
Little People castle from Randy and Jennifer - another hit!

Vacuum from me and Cameron (she LOVES to clean up!)
Also presents I didn't happen to get a picture of - from me and Cameron princess dress up shoes, the new Tinkerbell movie, a Snow White playset and Ariel and Belle mini dolls and from Ray and Nina and Lisa and Ryan - If you take a Mouse to the Movies book and matching mouse doll (Loves that too! - we've read the book over and over already!) and from Grandpa a Toys R Us gift card. Thanks everyone!!
Here's the birthday girl with her birthday brownies. She was even able to blow out the candles all by herself!
We are excited about more birthday fun this weekend with Gigi and Donk, Gammie and Papa (and Peach!), Coco and Grandpa and Uncle Colin in town. And of course we can't wait for the Build a Bear party with our friends! More pictures to come soon!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We put up our tree yesterday and Scarlett was VERY excited. She kept running around telling puppy "Puppy, look! Christmas tree!!".
She helped put up the tree (sitting in the box!)

And attempted to put on a couple ornaments

She found my Clarice bobble head ("reindeer") and made her kiss the Rudolph ornament on the tree
All done!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Our Thanksgiving dinner was a success! I single handedly prepared turkey, dressing, stove top (yeah, Cameron HAD to have that too), mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato souffle, green bean casserole, cranberry, macaroni and cheese, orange salad, pumpkin pie and dark chocolate mint cheesecake. I think that's all... It was A LOT! But I said if I was going to do it, we were going eat it for 3 days. Cameron and I stuffed ourselves with everything, but Scarlett wouldn't touch anything but mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Turkey comas ensued:
HAHA...yeah, nice pose by Scarlett. Turkey comas were true for me and Cameron, but Scarlett was on a carb high or something!

Scarlett loves Pandas. And other updates...
Scarlett is officially obsessed with pandas. We saw this little guy in Wal Mart and she gave him the biggest hug and proceeded to kiss all over him the whole way through grocery shopping. I had intended to stash it away for her birthday, but she found him again once we got home and exclaimed "PANDA!" and gave him the biggest hug. So he's hers now. She sleeps with him every night (along with a slew of other stuffed animals and toys...honestly I don't know how she fits in her bed too).
She put him up here to have a snack.

Making out.
Other than being in love with pandas, we haven't been up to much around here. Scarlett and I both had a touch of a cold last week, but we are better now. Scarlett's full on terrible two - refusing to sleep, eat and bathe. Or just about anything else I ask her to do. Good thing she's so darn cute.

We went to the bounce place today and Scarlett had a blast. She LOVES it there. Her favorite today was the gigantic slide. "More slide! More slide!"

Last bit of Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Last night we kicked off the Halloween weekend by carving our pumpkin. Scarlett picked out a ghost, so that's what we made! Scarlett was a little hesitant with the icky insides at first, but then she was a good helper! She never would stick her hand down in the pumpkin though.

Tonight we went to trunk or treat at a local school. It was really cute, although not a big event. There were only about 7 cars there, so it was a disappointment to the bigger kids, but perfect for Scarlett! She thought it was great. She did a great job walking up, saying "treeeeat" and "thank you". She was thrilled with the adults in "scary" masks and we even saw a few "scary men" (Spiderman).

One happy girl heading home from trick or treating!
Scarlett has been talking about scary dancing at trick or treating all night! So cute!

Halloween Festivities Begin!
Scarlett and I went to the mall today with our friends for Halloween song time at Pottery Barn (yeah, they were LESS than interested, but Brooke and Scarlett had a great time with the doll houses, baby strollers and play kitchens they have out) and then to see the pumpkin man and ride the Scary Train. Scarlett got on the train and LOVED it! She was sitting with Brooke, which I guess helped (since the last time was a screaming disaster). They rode it twice and I had to pry Scarlett off of it kicking and screaming. She then went up to the Pumpkin Man and was SO excited. Now, this is a girl in overalls and a flannel shirt and a GIGANTIC pumpkin head. Scarlett was giving her hugs and high fives and talking to her. So excited! The lady took some super cute pictures, but they wanted $20 for the smallest package...so not happening! The photographer was super sweet though and printed me out a picture of just Scarlett for free and told me to come back at Christmas. I'll have to scan it later and upload it too. It's adorable!
Here's the girls getting ready to go on the train!

Pumpkin Painting, Freezer Paper Stencils and Cooking!
We've been busy with crafting this week (not that it's that much different than any OTHER week). Here's what we did this week!
I discovered the art of freezer paper stenciling, which was really easy and Scarlett's shirt turned out super cute!! The hardest part of it all was just sitting there to exacto-knife out my design in the freezer paper. Haha...of course I picked a hard one to start! Here's the finished product!

Want to try one yourself? Here's the tutorial I used:

Scarlett has been busy "cooking" this week.
She's keeping pots and pans at her princess table to "fix dinner" while I do. It's usually pouring water between bowls, but this morning she decided to "fix" her fruit that I cut up for her for breakfast.
Yesterday we went to a pumpkin painting party with the Moms Club. Scarlett had a blast painting her pumpkin. Such a masterpiece :)
Here she is painting with her friend Daphne. Of course I did bring my camera (even went back by here to get it), then left it in the car. Sorry for the poor quality - the iphone can only do so much!

Here she is showing it off
And now she's "cooking" it. A little bit of juice...
And it's ready to eat!

Obsessed?
Cameron sure thinks I am. I just think I'm trying to make a complete kitchen full of food for a sweet baby girl :o) Here's all the felt food I have so far to go with Scarlett's play kitchen from Santa. I have a few more things in mind to make, but I think I'm about done and ready to move on to the kid sized apron and embellished tea towels!

A close up of a few of my favorites - strawberry, kiwi and a poptart!

Costume Number 2
Scarlett will be both a kitty AND Belle this Halloween! Luckily we have 2 big events coming up, so she'll get lots of time in both costumes. This weekend we are going to Park-a-boo at Lafreniere Park. It's a Halloween event for kids with games, trick or treating, and of course costumes! And then we'll be doing Trunk or Treat on Halloween at a local school. I'm excited about it...think it's going to be much more fun AND practical with a one year old!
Here's Scarlett debuting her kitty costume. And don't worry...she'll wear black tights with it. The pink were just what she had on today and I don't change her tights unless I absolutely have to!

Montz Pumpkin Farm
Today Cameron, Scarlett and I went to the Montz Pumpkin farm for some fall fun. We rode the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, each picked a pumpkin and came back to the farm to wash them off. Here are our beautiful pumpkins!
Scarlett on the tractor. Which she didn't love. When we got back on it, she kept saying "no boat mommy, no boat". I said "Scarlett, it's not a boat, it's a tractor". Scarlett - "Tractor. Mommy, no tractor".

Here we are out at the pumpkin patch.

Back at the farm - washing off our pumpkins. Scarlett was in love with the water cups...she wouldn't take the cup away from her mouth to get a good picture!
It was a fun fall day! And finally some fall weather too! Although it's been high 60's here, at the pumpkin patch in the sun it was definitely warmer.
Here we are out at the pumpkin patch.
