Happy Weekend!
We had a fairly uneventful Saturday. Cameron was on call, so it was just me and Scarlett here all day. The rain had cleared out but it was really chilly (aka high of 65) so we didn't want to really get out. I let Scarlett feed herself yogurt. She was doing really well with the spoon, but well, I turned my back and she decided that the yogurt wasn't getting in her mouth fast enough, so she started to dunk her whole hand in and lick it off. Nice.
Today was birthday party day for Scarlett's friend Brooke, who just turned 3. They had a spacewalk, a clown with facepainting and balloon animals and of course birthday treats and cupcakes. Scarlett had a good time running around, playing with the other kids and participating in all the festivities. I forgot to take my camera to the party, but got some pictures of Scarlett once we got home.

Awww...Balloon puppy!

So excited about her favor - a rainbow lolly pop with Daisy Duck on it.

New Yard
Hiring landscapers was the best decision we've made all year! Check out our awesome new backyard. We're enjoying it so much already and the swing set isn't even here yet!
The before shot - complete disgusting weed jungle:

Day 1 : We have a patio!
Day 2: Patio plus play area
Day 3: Awesome backyard COMPLETE!!

Scarlett apparently needed to make a call while we were playing outside. "Hi!".

Rearranging - by me, then Scarlett
We were stuck inside with the rain this weekend, so I did a little rearranging in Scarlett's room. Since her birthday and Christmas she's had a million toys without a home really, so they were stuck here there and everywhere in her room. I decided to create a toy corner. Look at how neatly her dolls are lined up in their cradle and each stuffed animal has a home in the basket. Bitty Baby is enjoying her high chair, etc.
I left Scarlett alone in her room while I was sitting in the office with Cameron talking over our landscaping. She was running back and forth between the rooms bringing me toys, etc. Well, I had no idea what she was really up to in her room, until I walked in there. Every single doll and stuffed animal out of it's home and on the floor. Bitty Baby who knows where...the high chair completely disassembled. Nice job, Scarlie!

March Visitors
Well, I've fallen off the blogging recently, but with good reason! We had a string of visitors come down to NOLA. First was my dad and Jill, followed by Cameron's mom, followed by my mom. We had a great time with everyone and Scarlett LOVED all the attention from the grandparents. Here's a few highlights from the visit. I've posted all the pictures on facebook, so I'm sure these are all old news to everyone by now :o)
Here's Scarlett with Gigi and Donk. And her new Tinkerbell princess wand. It's an essential accessory for every girl.

She's using her new bathtub crayons. Look at her writing her name already...haha...baby genius!
We have use of a sandbox for a month or two. Scarlett doesn't especially like to get IN it because, well, it's dirty and she's a girl. She much preferred to pose for a photo shoot on the turtle.
She loves to be outside and loves to be dressed up - hence the excitement in this picture.
Posing with Grandma
She LOVES to be outside. Thank goodness the weather is warming up (ok, well, honestly, it never really was COLD). We're looking into some landscaping, so hopefully soon Scarlett will have more to do in the yard than play hide and seek behind this tree!

I thought this picture was adorable. She's just hanging out on her new favorite spot - on top of the deconstructed puzzle mat which we still haven't figured out what to do with. She's got princesses and her crocs...what more could a girl need to play with?
Scarlett has inherited the "clean" gene. Well, I can tell you it skipped me, but has come into Scarlett full force. She loves to help sweep (pitched it when I took the broom away - I'm talking huge crocodile tears here). She also likes to get the dishtowels out and wipe things up. She's always willing to clean up her spilled water or milk.
Scarlett and Bitty Baby had a rough start - what with Bitty Baby taking over what Scarlett saw as HER high chair (even though it was a doll chair!), but there's nothing but love there now. Scarlett carries her around with her and even took her for a ride on the beloved princess car. She gives her pats and kisses like a sweet little "mommy".
Scarlett and Grandmommy are reading about getting fancy with Fancy Nancy. Check out that hairbow Scarlett is sporting!
Thanks to all our visitors for making the trip out here! We had a great week!
