Trick or Treating

We beat the rain to trick or treat door to door tonight.  The girls were thrilled!

All dressed up and ready to go

Coco and Grandpa got to come with us too since they were in town this weekend.  Grandpa had his scary bug jacket

And the witches

We finally met up with all the kids.

The candy fairy comes tonight!  The girls are so excited to exchange their stash for a present.  (I'm not THAT mean, I let them each fill a sandwich bag of candy before we left it out for the fairy).

Elle's Halloween Party

Elle had her Halloween Fun Day today.  It was a a little crazy with 19 3 year olds running around to all the activities, but they had so much fun.  They had stations with tattoos, facepainting, games, and crafts.
Elle and her buddies, Brenna and Taylor

The entire class

Their last activity was to decorate cookies.

I enjoyed getting to play with the kids this morning too.  Scarlett's party was for the kids only (so sad!).

Carving our Sofia the First Pumpkin

Sunday was the great carving day of 2013!  We started looking at pumpkin ideas online and in our pumpkin masters book.  I opted to see what Disney had to offer.  We found a Sofia the First stencil and Cameron decided he was up for the challenge.

Before carving comes cleaning!

Elle was telling me "it's sticky!"

Elle wasn't so sure she wanted to get dirty.  She let Scarlett do most of the hard work.

I got her to stick her arm in by giving her the little orange pumpkin scraper that came in our carving kit.  There was no way she was ACTUALLY touching seeds and "goo" with her fingers.  Even that didn't last long.  Scarlett was on her own!

The finished product

The girls were SO excited.  They were jumping all over the place.  Scarlett said she has dreamed her whole life of having a Sofia pumpkin!

Halloween Dinner

After our Boo at the Zoo day, I thought I'd try out some Pinterest ideas on a Halloween dinner.

We had mummy dogs, ghost bananas, mummy cupcakes and a ghostly cup to drink out of.  The girls were also extra thrilled to have their chips that they got while trick or treating.

Boo at the Zoo in Baton Rouge

Yesterday we went to Boo at the Zoo in Baton Rouge.  Even though it was just the 4 of us, we wanted to continue the tradition for our last year here.  It was a really pretty day and we had a fun time.   The girls weren't too excited about the animals - it was all about trick or treat!

They did look at the giraffes, hippos and tigers!

Elle was trying to do "scary witch face" but her cheese its and witch hat got in the way!

Elle's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Elle went on her first field trip today!  We met all her friends at the pumpkin patch.  She could not have been more excited all morning to be somewhere having fun with all her friends.

Elle and her best girl friends - Alyssa, Brenna and Taylor

With about half of her classmates...waiting for the tractor ride!

Could not contain her excitment!

We picked our 2 perfect pumpkins.  Elle wanted one big and one small.

Pumpkin Patch

We went up to Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch this morning.  It was crowded, but it was a pretty day!  The minute we walked up, Elle said "I like dis place!"

Zoo Day

The Daddies were in Orlando at a conference, so Tonya and I took the kids to the zoo on Saturday morning.  It was hot, so we didn't do too much of the zoo (it's not like we haven't seen it 87,000 times).  We did Elephants & Tigers, then the monkeys, then the snake house (uggg....my LEAST favorite), then the sea lions.  Then everyone was done and wanted a snoball.

Here's the gang at the entrance.  They are all getting so grown up...I mean, a picture with ALL of them looking.  I think it's a first.

The elephants are getting a new home, so this was the last weekend to enjoy the current exhibit.

Scarlett and the white tiger.  She's been totally obsessed with white tigers lately!

Monkeys!

What's Elle up to Lately?

With Scarlett in school full time and at gymnastics 2 nights a week, sometimes I find myself with a camera roll full of Elle!

Sitting at gymnastics for 3 hours a week can be a challenge sometimes.  But Elle has been finding more to do lately.  Sometimes it's the iPad, but lately she's been filling a lot of time with these ponies.  They have quite the dramatic tales as they fall from chairs and climb and talk to eachother.

Here we are waiting in the parking lot for Scarlett.  We had a few cool (ish) days, and Elle was all about the long sleeves.  She's looking so grown up lately!

When we are at home, she's totally into puzzles.  She wanted me to take a picture the other morning because she put this puzzle together all by herself!  She was so proud!

Masterpieces

I picked up these mini pumpkins at the grocery store a couple weeks ago and the girls had a blast decorating them.  As you can tell, Scarlett prefers some organized design and for Elle, the more puffy paint she can pile on, the better!
