Halloween Parties

Today Scarlett and Elle had their Halloween parties at school.  Scarlett sang songs and posed for pictures for the parents, then they had grandparent's day.  Coco was able to come into town so Scarlett had a fun morning showing her around her classroom and decorating pumpkins together.

Here's the whole class

Scarlett, Coco and their pumpkin

Elle had a little song and dance session, snack and a craft with me.  As soon as I walked through the door she came and was stuck like glue to my side until we left.  All the other kids stayed in the circle to participate in the song, but Elle did every other move stuck to my side.

Here she is growing like a pumpkin

And making her jack o lantern

Can't wait for more Halloween fun tonight!

Boo at the Zoo

We went to Boo at the Zoo in Baton Rouge today.  We were joined by a few friends for trick or treating.

We tried to get a picture of all the kids before we set out.  Grayson is a ninja, Emma is Jessie, Scarlett and Elle are black cats, Chloe is the Tinkerbell who didn't want to wear wings or a headband and Raymond is Buzz.

Here are the girls right inside the zoo

Another group picture by the big black cat.  Or attempt at a group picture I guess I should say :o)

Scarlett loves the witches...Elle was too scared.

Happy trick or treaters with bags full of candy!

Our Weekend

Scarlett had a birthday party for one of her classmates this weekend. It was a pony ride & face paint party, which was a new experience for us. I seriously did not expect Scarlett to ride the pony. She's not exactly a farm animal kind of girl. At the pumpkin patch a little girl handed her a baby chick. She freaked - jumped about 10 feet when the chick touched her hand and dropped it. But she rode that pony 3 times! She had a blast with her friends.

Her new BFF this year - Sophie

Here are my sweet girlies before the party. Elle needed to dress up.

Potty Trained!

Last weekend Elle finally figured out the whole going potty thing!  She finally got that final step of holding it and going on demand.  She pretty much potty trained herself in a day.  She's been in panties for a week now and doing great!  We got her a little prize today to celebrate!

Snack Day

Both girls were snack sharer today. I spent a few hours in the kitchen yesterday to whip these up (times 20 on each). Both classes have race reviews though which made it all worth it! Elle's teacher said the kids all loved it. There's a few that never eat snack and they ate the whole thing. One little girl even said "thank you for our treats!" when I picked Elle up. Scarlett said her class was SO quiet during snack because everyone was eating.

A little Halloween treat

I threw these little monsters together last night (vanilla pudding dyed green & topped with crushed Oreos). The girls went crazy! Loved them

Life with a 2 year old

So I just love 2 year olds.  They tell the funniest stories!  I picked Elle up from school yesterday and she was all business and had to tell me that "JOSH TOUCHED THE MULCH!"  For those of you not tuned into PK2...touching the mulch outside is like the worst possible thing you can do at school.  I said, "oh, yeah, we don't touch mulch, that's bad!"  Elle replied "No, JOSH!" (thinking I was accusing her).  Josh had to go to time out.

She's also very into being girly.  She begged to have her toes painted after school the other day (pink with sparkles and flower stickers), so now every chance she gets she admires them and says "pretty toes!"   I started wearing earrings again this week after a 2+ year hiatus (babies and earrings don't mix) and Elle had been just thrilled with me.  "Pretty earrings mommy.  Pretty necklace!"  She also likes to admire my shoes and clothes, pick out her own beautiful "tutus" (dresses) and fancy shoes and purple hairbows.  She rubs her hands all over my face pretending to put on my makeup.

I love never knowing what she's going to come up with next!

Pumpkin Patch

Today was a chilly fall day so we went up to the pumpkin patch. We visited Mrs. Heather's pumpkin patch in Hammond. There was so much to do and we had a blast!

Before we left the girls modeled their Halloween shirts in front of our very festive front door.

At the farm!
