Look at those teeth!

All bright and shiny from her first dental visit! Scarlett did not have such a great time - she screamed her way through the 5 minute exam, cleaning and fluoride treatment. But we survived, and Scarlett got a new princess jewelry set complete with singing Ariel necklace, light up tiara and some beautiful Ariel bangle bracelets. Great checkup - no cavities, no plaque, just the chance she'll need braces in another 12 years...well, yeah, I sorta saw that one coming :o)

Beautiful day!

The weather was really nice today! After days and days of rain, it has cooled off a little. It reminded me that it IS almost September, which means that fall is almost here! That means park days are almost back again! And we can start enjoying our backyard even more! We had a little outside fun this afternoon, playing on the swingset and enjoying that we weren't turning into little puddles. Popsicles are delicious! And they've become one of Scarlett's favorite things this summer.

A princess and the frogs

Scarlett's Coco came to visit and we had a little girl's shopping trip. Scarlett got her first official pet - baby frogs! See them here. She is in love with those little things! They don't have names yet - just loving referred to as "fwog" or "fwoggy". Here she is admiring the little guys.

She wanted puppy to watch the frogs too.Of course we had to go in the princess store (or known to most as the Disney store) and Scarlett got her Halloween costume a little early. She's going to be Belle! Well, probably for Halloween and every other day between now and then :o)

Happy Birthday - TO ME!

This weekend I turned the big 2-6 (eek!). My mom, Mark and my grandparents came into town to celebrate with me. We had a fun visit and I had a great birthday! I got tons of money to buy a whole new wardrobe (MUCH NEEDED!!). I've already started my shopping and found a dress, 2 pairs of shorts and 2 shirts today. I also got some new stuff to decorate my house, some bath stuff and makeup, a new iPhone case, FM transmitter for my car and a jewelry tree!
Of course an occasion to send presents means Scarlett gets stuff too!! Little girl racked up. Here's one of the presents - a Yo Gabba Gabba magic dance hat.

We had a delicious birthday dinner of London Broil and for b-day cake was cookie cake! MMmm...real MALL cookie cake! It was really good. Scarlett still hasn't stopped talking about it. One of the sweetest things from the day was when Scarlett sang me happy birthday (sounded more like "BAAAABIEE BAAABIEE", but SO cute!!)

I found the timer button on my camera today. Fantastic! I had to take a family photo because I'm featured mom in the new MOMS club newsletter for this month. Yeah, I'm sure it's not as fancy as it sounds :o) Realized we hadn't had one of these since Christmas! It was about time for an update!

Zoo day

Yesterday we made a short trip to the zoo before the rain came (again!). We didn't see many animals, but spent some time playing in the water on Monkey Hill.

First we took a short stop to see the turtles and the birds.


Then on to Monkey Hill for splashing. And more splashing. And climbing. And then practically laying herself in the water. She was soaked when we were done! But I think she had fun. And luckily I was prepared with more clothes.

After that we walked to see the giraffes, but Scarlett wasn't feeling it anymore, so we went to plan B and sat down with a snowball. Here she is post bubblegum snowball. Yep, I bought one the same color as her shirt. That's the old college degree kicking in there :o)
P.S. It was HOT. And humid. But I'm sure you can tell that by this girl's hair!
