Excavating frogs

I saw this cute idea on pinterest the other day

http://naughtysecretaryclub.blogspot.com/2012/03/spring-break-fun-with-kiddlet.html?m=1

I thought I'd try it out with the girls. That blog used dinosaurs, but I found frogs at Walmart, so I froze those in blocks of ice. The girls used their "tools" to get the frogs out of their icy home. They loved it!! Scarlett was so into getting them out & Elle kept yelling "frogs! Bug!!"

Blueberry Picking

Today we went blueberry picking at Blue Harvest Farms on the north shore.  It was really a lot of fun!  The girls picked a bunch - most of Scarlett's ended up in the bucket and most of Elle's ended up in her mouth!  Now we have a pound of blueberries to eat!

Here's all the pictures:

First Day of Summer Vacation

Cameron was off today, so we had a big morning to celebrate the first day of summer vacation.  We all went downtown for lunch at Cochon - a cajun restaurant, then went to the aquarium and finished our outing with Pinkberry (delicious!).

Last Day of PK3

Yesterday was Scarlett's last day of PK3.  We were so sad to leave Mrs. Jackie & Mrs. Jeanette.  They have been so great to us this year!  The kids put on a little end of the year program with a few of their songs from the year.  Scarlett was the MOST into it of any kid.  She was practically screaming the words!  But in her defense, the teacher did say to sing loud.  It's not her fault that no one else would sing with her!   That girl is certainly a little performer.

The class is lined up to get their certificates

Lap Dog

Abbie is a lap dog for sure. She's so sweet when she's sleepy. When she's awake though, it's total crazy town.

Field Day

Friday was Scarlett's field day.  It was a hot day, but I was happy that Elle and I got to come because the games were so cute!

Grocery cart relay races

Scarlett's favorite was the limbo.  After all the kids had gone under the pole, they took over my job of holding it up!

The parachute.  I loved this in PE as a kid, but Scarlett pitched a fit at it.  She said it was "too hot" and she couldn't do it.

This little one was a perfect angel.  No I'm not kidding...she held my hand and stood right by me and watched the games.

And the last game...the trip to the beach!  Scarlett's getting on her floaties and getting ready to run around the cones.

Mother's Day & Meet Abbie

Today I celebrated my 5th mother's day (wow...really?  Just had to count that up...).

Here's me & my girlies

We enjoyed breakfast together at Another Broken Egg Cafe (delicious).  The girls & Cameron got me flowers & a new phone case (exactly what I asked for).

Right before lunch the girls were getting antsy, so we decided to get out of the apartment for a bit (we were in Baton Rouge this weekend).  Just by chance we met the newest member of our family.  She is just so sweet and cute.  She's a 7 week old teacup Maltipoo.  We finally all agreed to name her Abbie.

Happiest girl on the planet right now.  She's in LOVE.

Mother's Day Tea

Scarlett invited me to Mother's Day tea at school on Friday.  It was so sweet!  The teachers & the kids really put a lot of work into it and they did a good job of keeping it a secret too!  We had a sweet sit down tea with lots of art by the kids and tons of snacks.  The kids did 3 songs for us and then presented us with gifts.

Me & my girl as we walked in.  She's wearing my shirt as a dress.  The kids dressed up in mom and dad's clothes.

22 Months

Elle is 22 months old today.  Her favorite things are "ruffs" (dogs), "Eh" (Mickey Mouse & gang), all stuffed animals (her "babies"), swinging, copying her sister in everything, and playing outside with her friends.  Oh, and she's very into headbands lately, which she calls "hats".

Please don't call Hoarders on me...

My kids love stuffed animals.  LOVE.  Scarlett calls them "pets".  They both sleep with a mountain of them.  Everywhere we go it seems a new one "speaks" to them and they HAVE to bring it home.  And they are all just so cute, how do you ever get rid of them?  I started thinking last night about how big of a pile I could make if I gathered them from all areas of the house.  Yep, I was right, it was pretty huge.  There's 18 build a bears in there.  I took a picture to document before some got the ax.  Hopefully they will make some less fortunate children happy :o)
