Baby Burrito
Scarlett has recently become obsessed with blankets and being wrapped up, snuggled up, covered up. This is kind of crazy to me for 2 reasons. She has never been a blanket baby. Never one for being swaddled, or even covered up in bed. And 2 - it's July. and it's New Orleans. Hello? HOT! But she's super cute none the less :o)

Spa day!
Today was spa day for the Bayou Mamas. We headed up to Slidell to see Julie (a member AND licensed massage therapist!) who gave us a foot scrub, facial and mini massage. It was really nice and relaxing - even though we did have 6 kids running around! Scarlett and Lizzie decided to get in on the foot soak action too!.jpg)

A very good weekend!
We've had a really nice weekend so far! Yesterday we had a relaxing morning, then we headed off to Parker's 5th birthday party. He had a pool party / cook out. Scarlett, true to Scarlett form, played in the pool for a good 15 minutes, then was DONE. She did a little swimming, a few bubbles, little bit of sidewalk chalk, then we retired to the indoors for some yummy food (not such a bad idea by that girl...it was HOT!).
Kids in the pools - and Scarlett soaking poor Stephanie!

Here's the birthday boy opening Scarlett's present. We got him some sort of lego race car sets or something. I don't really know boy, but he seemed to like them! Check out the "wrapping paper" I sewed. It was an eco-friendly party, so they had requested reusable or recycled wrapping. Can't really tell from the picture, but I did sew his initials on it!
After the party we headed to Best Buy so Cameron could pick out a stand for his NEW TV!! We are very excited. I don't know many of the details that boys know...but it's 52 inches and flat. Cameron's parents got it for him as his birthday / yay for boards present. We brought the stand home yesterday and the TV should be here on Friday! On an almost equally exciting note, we got Mulan for Scarlett. I'm excited to see it since we have so many Mulan dolls, books, etc as a part of our princess collection here, and I've never seen the movie. Looking forward to watching it later today!
That's all from here...hope everyone had a great weekend too!!

Smarty!
We found out yesterday that Cameron passed Step 1 of the medical boards. Well, I should say more than just "passed" - he did really really well! He even surpassed the insanely high "goal" he set for himself. Guess that Harvard education was worth it :)

This girl makes me laugh...again!
Sometimes the things this girl thinks up to do just make me laugh! My cooler is slowly making it's way back into the closet from the 4th of July and Scarlett decided to make it her hang out today. She loves to cram herself into small boxes...cooler, toy boxes, rubbermaid containers, her cradle that has now been taken over by her dolls...

Backyard Swimming
I hadn't been able to set up Scarlett's pool this year because with the new backyard, we don't have room for it anymore! My friend Tonya gave me a tiny baby pool that is perfect for Scarlett to splash around in and easy to take up and down when we want to use it. We got it out for the first time today and Scarlett loved it! She was in and out and playing with her toys for over an hour outside today (and yes, apparently crocs are now water toys).

And when the pool fun wore off, we had the water feature on the pool to turn to!

Ariel better watch her back...
Ariel had a long reign as top princess in this house, but she's slowly getting edged out. I more often hear a request to watch "ha" these days (Pocahontas). I let her pick out a new movie at Target last week and she was insistent upon getting Pocahontas. I really didn't expect her to love it as much as she does (I remember not being too impressed in my day of Disney movies). Her new favorite doll is "White" (Snow White). We are patiently waiting for White to be released from the Disney vault this October. Poor "A". Maybe she'll make a comeback!
On a separate note, Scarlett has picked up on one of my more frequent phrases to her, "no ma'am". I asked her to sit down at Starbucks yesterday and she looked me straight in the eye and said "NO MA'AM!". I've created a monster :)

Fort - take 2
Scarlett loved my ghetto fort made out of floor tiles SO much, that we decided to get her a real fort - "cat fort" as she said. It's a Hello Kitty play tent. So far she's loving it!
It's good for plenty of things...
Reading
Playing with puppy

And just general hanging out!
We've got one happy girl today!!

4th of July Weekend
We had a fun 4th of July weekend! We had Cameron's parents and my dad and Jill here to visit. Everyone got here Friday and left early this morning, so we had plenty of time for a visit - although it did fly by! Friday we hung around here for the day, then went to Chili's for dinner (where we bribed Scarlett to be good with M&M's!). Saturday we stayed here again and my dad broke out the smoker to make pork and chicken bbq. It was DELICIOUS!! Sunday we got out of the house for a little while and braved the heat to head over to City Park and check out Storyland. Here's some cute pictures from the weekend:
Here's Scarlett and Gigi (Scarlett was all over "gigi, gigi" - had that name down!!).

Here was the extent of our fireworks! Scarlett goes to bed at 7, so it's still bright as day out. We did sparklers for her. I think she liked them :)
Here's a few pictures from Storyland.
Trying to get Scarlett to ride the Carousel. Yeah, it was HOT. Can you tell?

Scarlett likes to squint when she smiles :)

Peek a boo!
This one is from this morning BEFORE the ill fated trip to the library. We sat outside at the cafe in the front of the library and it had just rained. This girl ended up completely soaked and covered in dirt. Then she was NOT happy!

On the upswing
Or at least I hope!! Things have gone downhill since the teething episodes of the weekend as Scarlett and I both are now sick with colds. I am on the mend (at least I think). There must have been some magical powers in either the Starbucks iced coffee or the princess chicken noodle soup (yeah, Disney princess soup...who knew that existed?) because I am semi- breathing out of my nose now. I gave Scarlett some soup too and she's sleeping it off right now. She picked out Pocahontas at Target this morning, so we're going to try to give poor Ariel a rest for the afternoon. She seems to be doing better. At least less melt downs during the day. She's on the correct dose of Motrin now, so I'm sure that's a big part of it. As soon as she wakes up I'm off to get her Triaminic to dry up that nose of hers. Here's hoping we're all put back together by the weekend. Less than 2 days till our family gets here!
Fingers crossed for less of this:
