2 year checkup
Scarlett finally had her 2 year checkup this morning. She weighs 29 lbs (75th percentile) and is 36 inches (90th percentile). The doctor said she looked perfect! We talked about starting potty training again soon...exciting task. Poor girl did have to get one shot. Apparently she missed out on one of her boosters when there was a nationwide shortage, so she had to catch up today. She was really well behaved the entire time. Even the shot didn't phase her too bad. The nurse stood her right up and told her to march on with her to find the basket of suckers. Scarlett forgot all about that little "hurt". I promised her a "blue ice cream with a straw" aka icee all morning, so I guess I have to deliver on that after nap time. It was a 2 hour endeavor at the pediatrician this morning, so there was no time for that before nap time.

The return of Halloween, redecorating, ponytails and more
Yeah, it's been awhile. SORRY! There's nothing too new and exciting here since my last post. It's been FREEZING out, so we've been staying in and trying to keep warm!
Scarlett is oh so upset that Christmas is over. She keeps asking to hear Santa songs or Jingle Bells every time we get in the car. We are still watching the Grinch almost every night. I finally had to tell her "Christmas is over" and she's been repeating that to me ever since. To fill the void of holidays with characters, she has resurrected Halloween. She's dressing up in her Belle dress (complete with bracelets, tiara and wand of course) daily. She calls it "play Halloween".
She is of course still fully enjoying all her toys from her birthday and Christmas. Here she is in the ladybug bean bag she drags everywhere with her!
She got a few new room decorations for her birthday, so we decided to re-do things a little. Here's her room now:

I'm planning to put her letters up over her closet door, just haven't gotten around to that yet. Yeah, it's high.
I finally have been able to get Scarlett's hair all pulled back in a little tiny ponytail!! How exciting! I swear, I thought this day would never come. Haha....it will still be a little while before we can do this often and have it stay, but it's so cute!

I put it up and she went to admire herself in the mirror. She came back to report to me "I like Brooke, mommy!" She was SO proud! Brooke came over for a playdate this morning with her hair in a ponytail and Scarlett was thrilled she could do the same. She even asked for the Belle hairbow Brooke had in.
Our big girl has her 2 year old check up tomorrow!

Christmas in Review
It's been a crazy few weeks! We spent the week of Christmas in Georgia making the rounds to see all our friends and family, then this week has flown by as I've tried to unpack, clean, do laundry and attempt to find a home for that car full of stuff we came home with! I've yet to take down the Christmas tree and it's driving me nuts! Hopefully it comes down today!
We celebrated Christmas with a visit from Santa before we left for Georgia. Scarlett has been absolutely thrilled with her new kitchen! She loves the grocery cart too - last night she pulled it up to the pantry, unloaded all my can goods into it and strolled off to unload them in the living room.

Santa came!!

We had a great time in Georgia too. We kicked off the week with the lights in Callaway, then headed to visit all our parents and celebrate with 3 more Christmases!

Here's the full photo album to check out when you get a chance!

Pasadena River
Welcome to Southeast Louisiana. We had a little rain today, and well, that resulted in a little river down Pasadena. Luckily the water never got higher than this, so Cameron's baby "white car" (as Scarlett calls it) was safe!
Here's Scarlett surveying the river. Yeah, you like her "jacket"? That's a 0-3 month onesie she's sporting. She pulled it out of her baby doll clothes and insisted on wearing it. Still buttons, but notice the little feet right at her butt. Haha. She wore this thing for HOURS today.
Here's Scarlett's take on the situation.

Santa Pictures
We went for Scarlett's Santa pictures today. I was all excited that she'd do GREAT since this was her 4th time to sit on his lap, but I think the picture part freaked her out, because she didn't cooperate quite as well as I would have liked. The picture came out ok - not great.
*UPDATED* Here's the scanned copy

She was, of course a HUGE fan of the train - as always. Grayson and Will are in the car with her.

Scarlett's Build a Bear Party
We had a great birthday weekend! Thanks to everyone who made the trip down and for all our friends that joined us at Build a Bear! Scarlett had a great time!
Here's the precious little birthday girl
Scarlett picked out a girl moose to stuff and dress.
After stuffing, she gave her a really long bath!!

After bears, we headed to tables in the food court for cake and presents. Scarlett especially enjoyed the icing.
Back at home Scarlett took a little nap (finally) and when she got up she had more presents from her grandparents, aunts and uncle, followed by dinner of "tea fries" aka Canes chicken fingers, fries and sweet tea (along with some other yummy sides), and finally, the thing she had been waiting for for months...Barbie cake!!
Happy Second Birthday baby girl!

Scarlett likes "Cheese"
We had spaghetti for dinner tonight. As I always do, I made spaghetti noodles for Cameron and I and mini bowties for Scarlett (just easier for her to eat). She normally downs her food without a second glance at ours, but not tonight. She kept eyeing my plate, then Cameron's plate and telling me she wanted cheese too. Ummm...ok, well there was no cheese to be seen. Tried to tell her to eat her pasta, but she said "no, mommy cheese". Then proceeded to start grabbing and downing my spaghetti noodles. "Nummy NUMMY CHEESE!!" Haha...that girl is so silly! But she ate and ate and ate that "cheese".
