Scarlett's Birthday Party

Scarlett's birthday party request this year was for a Frozen party at the carousel.  Other than being cold, everything turned out great!  Loved the excitement in Scarlett's eyes as her friends showed up to celebrate with her.

Saturday was her family party with all the grandparents and aunt Chloe at our house, then Sunday morning was the carousel party.

Scarlett was clearly excited to be opening presents!

Since the movie Frozen just came out, there's not too much available yet in party supplies.  I did my best to fit her theme!  I didn't get a picture of the favors, but I did reindeer candy canes and called them Sven's friends (he's the reindeer in the movie)

Here's the birthday girl in her Frozen outfit

And of course little sister doesn't get left out of present opening. She's posing in her new "Judy Moody" outfit.  Judy Moody is a chapter book series that Scarlett reads, and Elle decided that girl on her shirt was Judy.

Ready to ride the carousel

Elle's friend Taylor came

Karissa, Scarlett and Jonathan

Elle and Brooke

After the party we posed with Mr. Bingle

And not so legit-ly snuck our way into Storyland (hey - we paid enough for that party!)

Now that the party is over, it's on to Christmas!

Breakfast with Santa

Elle had her PK3 breakfast with Santa on Friday.  She didn't totally freak out (like a few of her friends), but she wasn't too thrilled with him either!

First up was breakfast - donuts and chocolate milk.  She was too nervous to eat!

I asked her to go take her picture.  She wouldn't let go of me!

She finally relaxed enough to tell him she wants a Barbie for Christmas.  Then she ran!

Happy that her Santa picture is over!

Scarlett is SIX!

Today is Scarlett's sixth birthday.  Hard to believe she's that big!  We set out to do everything she wanted today.  We had Krispy Kreme for breakfast, then opened her presents from us.  She got several books, new clothes and a Rainbow Loom to start making her friendship bracelets.  After presents, we went to see Frozen at the theater (it was great!).  Lunch was at Chipotle and then a treat at Pinkberry.  We picked up her cookie cake for tonight and cupcakes for her class for tomorrow, then we came home for a dinner of hot dogs and doritos (told you...birthday girl chooses) and cookie cake.  Now we have a week back to school before the big birthday party next weekend!

Last night we went out to dinner (we didn't leave the house much this week so we needed to get out!).  Elle was hugging on Scarlett saying "Scarlett is my sister and she's my best friend and she's my princess".  Love the love between these 2!

Going to bed 5...

And waking up 6!

Presents!

She loved her art work and present from Owen!

After presents, she modeled a few new outfits

Cookie cake!

Elle is writing!

Someone has learned to write her name and now she writes it EVERYWHERE!  Oh, and she also likes to draw people.

Decorating our Tree

On Friday we decorated our tree.  The girls put up all the ornaments in one small section, so we had to rearrange a bit.

Finished tree!

Chippy returns!

Thanksgiving night, Chippy made his way back to our house from the North Pole.  He even came bearing gifts this year!  He brought the girls Christmas pillowcases to ensure they have sweet Christmas dreams all month.  They are soft flannel and oh so cozy.  (I kinda wish I had one!)  The girls have been SO thrilled that he's here.  They are filling his mailbox with plenty of pictures and letters and have been talking to him.  The first thing they want to do in the morning is go find him.  Elle keeps reminding all of us that we can't touch him because we will hurt his magic.  Also, anytime someone is bad Elle says "you are hurting Santa's heart!"  She is just so sweet.

The girls set up a little cozy nap on the floor the morning they got their pillowcases.

Thanksgiving

Thursday we had a quiet Thanksgiving with just the 4 of us.  We ordered a dinner from Whole Foods and added in a few more sides that I made.

My little helpers on Wednesday making orange salad.  Upon taste test, Elle loved, Scarlett hated.

 Coloring on our tablecloth

The 3 pajama pals.  They decided that since we weren't going anywhere (and it was cold out), that we might as well make it pajama Thanksgiving.

Ready to eat!  Elle's favorites were the sweet potatoes and orange salad.  She hated the green bean casserole and stuffing.

True to her word, Scarlett ONLY ate turkey, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.

Dessert time!  Elle liked her pumpkin pie!

Scarlett would not take a bit of pumpkin pie, but she did eat a big pile of cool whip and some turkey cookies.

Post dinner movie.  Good thing our couch is so big!
