Thanksgiving is ALMOST here!

Less than 3 weeks and we'll be celebrating a NOLA thanksgiving complete with a Cajun turkey! Yum! We are all so excited to have family down to see us. Scarlett's getting in the holiday spirit!P.S. Yes, my child has some crazy hair this morning. She did something to it in her sleep because it was laying down beautifully after her bath last night.

The zoo again!

Scarlett and I had another trip to the zoo today with our brand new Bayou Mama's group! We decided that our old mom's group wasn't doing enough activities that were outside the realm of McD's and the dirt and acorn park, so a few of my friends and I have started our own playgroup. We all decided to go to the zoo today since it was a beautiful day. We had a great time and here's a few pictures!

Happy Halloween!

We've had quite the eventful week with Halloween festivities! Thursday we went to the mom's club Halloween party. Scarlett started out as a chicken, but the day ended up really warm, so one of the moms offered Scarlett a Tinkerbell costume to wear. She was SO excited about it! Today, Halloween day, we dressed up again...this time as some sort of ballerina with wings...I don't know what to call it except PRECIOUS! We went to the mall with 2 of my friends and saw the pumpkin man and the spooky express train. Scarlett LOVED pumpkin man from afar (this was some dude dressed in overalls, a flannel shirt and a GIANT pumpkin on his head), but when I tried to get her to sit with him for a picture she freaked! The lady taking the pictures said that almost every single kid that day had run screaming. Honestly, this dude was a little scary looking. We came home and changed into the chicken costume again for some trick or treating. We only went to 4 houses, and Scarlett was like, hmmm...why are we knocking on doors and why are people handing me stuff? I think she had fun though! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the past few days. Check out the entire album here:

Beach trip!

We just got home from our beach weekend. Although the weather was a little cool (70's mostly), we were able to get out for a walk on the beach and to dip our toes in the water. Scarlett had a good time with that!

Here's a few pictures:

Scarlett and I with the beach backdrop
Scarlett and Daddy testing out the sand Yikes! The sand is eating her feet!

Shielding from the sun and being extra cute!

More fun in the water. I believe this was right before she attempted to sit down and soaked herself!

We found a nice little park and Scarlett tried out the swings

And a firetruck.

Scarlett has another friend...

And this time it's a real person! Here's her and her friend Grayson playing at the park. Grayson's daddy, Curtis works with Cameron and his mom, Tonya and I are becoming fast friends since we stay home with the babies. Grayson is 1 month older than Scarlett, although they were actually due only a few days apart (he came a whole month early!).

Here they are practicing their walking...and sharing skills. Scarlett is using Grayson's dump truck walker and he took her girly pink and purple one.
Playing on the slide. Although Grayson wanted to go up, not down.

Snacktime! Puffs are DELICIOUS!

Finally!!

I've been working on this quilt for Scarlett since around the time she was just sitting around on quilts quietly playing with toys. We all know those days are over...she's a busy girl! I decided, oh what a fun sewing project! It took FOREVER! I am never making a quilt again, but here's my first and last attempt. I think it turned out pretty cute and I think Scarlett likes it!

Zoo!

We went to the New Orleans zoo today as a part of our "do as many fun things while Cameron has weekends off" plan. It's huge and really nice! We were there for 2 hours and didn't get around to everything. And man was it HOT. Glad we decided to go in October instead of August for sure! Here are a few highlights:

Scarlett and elephants
White tigers

Lions
Camels
And finally a precious pink baby elephant :)
