Being Silly

So I guess Scarlett got the word she's starting Catholic school. Here's her very best Mary Katherine Gallagher.

Scarlett saw her in my Entertainment Weekly magazine and decided to copy. Not bad, huh?

And a few more of her just being silly this morning.

Puppy's silly too. And yes, those are pigtails for puppy.

Family Zoo day

Cameron, Scarlett and I joined our friends Stephanie, Darren and Brooke for a zoo day today. Even though Scarlett and I go all the time, it had been awhile since we did the WHOLE zoo! We all had a great time (even though it was REALLY hot). Here are a few highlights:

The peacock that Scarlett loved. She wanted to pet him and see his "crown on his head".

A whole bunch of random stuff

We haven't been up to too much this week. Most of our playdate friends seem to be busy, so aside from time at the Chickfila play place on Monday, it's been me and Scarlett entertaining ourselves.

She's my little iron chef helper. She insists on helping me with dinner every night. She usually does really well with the mixing and stirring and seasonings. She begs "Mommy move my chair!!" so she can help out. Here she is making potatoes.

In other Scarlett news, we picked up her spring pictures from Penney's today. I LOVE how they turned out! Here are a few of my favorites:

You can see the rest here:

She's been busy singing Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday (She is reminding me "it's daddy's birthday soon!"), and is working on the ABC's, which normally halfway through turns into Row Row Row Your Boat.

She's constantly reminding me "I'm a BIG girl" and I can't count how many times a day she yells "I do it MYSELF!!".

Of course she's still coming up with crazy things that she tells me daily. The other day, she looks at the palm of her hand, comes running up to me and says "Mommy, I have wrinkles". She often tells me "Mommy, I NOT happy you". The other night, I went in and pulled all her books out of her bed after she was asleep and put them on the floor. I woke up the next morning to "Mommy, you NO take away my books!! I NOT happy you!!".

I've been crafting again, and finally finished up Elle's quilt. It didn't take quite as long as Scarlett's (remember this?). I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
We should be back in the swing of playdates next week with a potluck picnic on Monday and a trip to the zoo on Tuesday. Can't wait!

I guess this makes it official...

I mailed in Scarlett's first tuition payment this week and we went and bought her uniforms today. She's officially a preK-2-er starting in August!

Isn't she the CUTEST!?!

Mother's Day 2010

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! I had a great day! Scarlett and Cameron brought me Starbucks breakfast (YUM!) and we spent most of the morning hanging out around here. Scarlett and Cameron got me a shutterfly key chain with their picture on it and I also get to go get a pedicure this week. Scarlett and I spent a little time outside playing bubbles and swingset and we even snuck an early morning Oreo :o) Miracle upon miracles, Scarlett took a nap (a GOOD one) and was a perfect angel for the afternoon and evening. We headed to an early dinner at Ruth's Chris and it was amazing!! I had stuffed chicken - stuffed with some sort of amazing-ness that had a lot to do with cheese. Scarlett enjoyed the chicken too and we ordered her some fries, so she was a happy camper.

On an unrelated note, we broke out the video monitor today for kicks. I love being able to see what Scarlett's up to in her room. I always just sit there and wonder what she does after I leave the room. So far tonight she's just laying in her bed, rolling around, reading to puppy and making sure her glow worm stays constantly playing. I can't wait to see what happens during naptime!

Room Revamp (again)

So we rearranged Scarlett's room for what feels like the millionth time :o) I think we finally got it this time. We ordered some new bookcases from the Land of Nod to get things in order in there. It's made a huge difference with getting things organized and now I feel like we can actually put two children in that room! Scarlett seems to really be liking it too. She can actually see what toys she has now, so she's been so excited to play and play with all kinds of stuff she forgot she had.

Love these 2 bookshelves complete with bins at the bottom. Awesome!

Toy box / Window seat / Scarlett's new favorite spot for laying downFinally...some order to all those books!
Just a few more pictures and things to hang on the walls and this room will be done (for a little while anyway). Oh and we went with white because we are envisioning white bunk beds for the girls in a few years.

In other news, we went to Joann's again today. Cameron thinks I have an addiction. Yeah yeah. I got a tip from one of my friends about some super cute Tinkerbell fabric so we had to go check it out! Talk about an easy dress too. This stuff comes just like this, so it's just one seam up the back and a couple stitches to add the ribbon ties and it was done! She was a big helper today watering the plants with her own personal watering can.

Brooke's 4th Birthday

We went to Brooke's 4th birthday party this weekend. Scarlett had a blast! And with Cinderella, a jump place, a play ground, face painting and cake and ice cream, who WOULDN'T?!?

Meeting Cinderella. I think Scarlett was in shock.

JumpingIt was a joint party for Brooke and her cousin Dylan, so it was princesses and power rangers themed. The power ranger rode up on his red motorcycle and Scarlett screamed "Mommy, it's superman!!"

Face painting
And of course, cake and ice cream with the birthday girl!
