Thanksgiving Week

It's been a big week for us!  We have been busy celebrating Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas too!

Scarlett had grandparent's day at school that Elle & I attended (we were stand in grandparents). The kids all wore the turkey shirts they made and we helped them make a hand turkey craft and shared a snack.

Since Cameron had to work on Monday before Thanksgiving and Scarlett had off school, I took the girls to go see Santa!  Here they are getting ready.  I don't have the Santa pic scanned on my computer, but I think most of you saw in on facebook.  Turned out exactly as I expected...with Scarlett sweet and smiley and Elle freaking out!

The girls played princesses and I had to play tiara referee

Thanksgiving day - We had pigs in a blanket and cinnamon cream cheese bars for breakfast.  Elle wanted to share hers with pink puppy.

Then we went on a nature walk.  Scarlett walked around yelling "I'm in a REAL FOREST!"

Finally time for Thanksgiving dinner.  Thank you Whole Foods for your delicious already prepared foods :o)

As we sat down to eat I remembered back to last year when Elle was just 4 months old and couldn't enjoy any turkey and sides, and realized this was her first real Thanksgiving dinner!  She loved it!

And after Thanksgiving dinner we put up our little tiny Baton Rouge tree.  Elle wouldn't pose for a picture, but she loves her new hiding place!

And then to complete the evening...hot chocolate!

And for the weekend...playing in the rain

And making our gingerbread village.  Elle just yelled for more candy

While Scarlett ate more icing than she put on her house

Finished products!

And finally, the best picture I got of Elle in this dress that I LOVE!

Atlanta trip

The girls and I just returned from a fun trip to Atlanta.  We went to celebrate my friend Sarah's baby boy Owen, but added in a few days to play with family and visit the American Girl store.  We enjoyed seeing everyone!

Elle wasn't much on posing for pictures, but we got lots of cute ones of Scarlett with family!

At the shower.  Miss these girls!!

Lunch at American girl.  The girls LOVED it!

16 months

Elle turned 16 months old today.  She's becoming such a big girl!  This morning her very FIRST tooth finally broke through.  We knew it was coming - she had x-rays done at the dentist last week (yeah, forgot to blog that one, but it was ugly...the quote from the dentist as we were leaving sums it up..."I can usually handle the one year olds, but wow...she's a fighter").

Elle loves her new "ooes" (shoes) and has been inseparable from her new pink puppy.  She's sweet and prissy just like her sister, but she definitely still lives up to her nickname "ruckus".

Halloween 2011

Halloween was a big day for us this year!  We started off with Scarlett's school party.  The kids all went in costume and Elle and I got to join in the fun for a little over an hour as they had Halloween themed centers and then got to ice and decorate their own Halloween cupcake for a snack.  Scarlett wanted to stay for the rest of the school day, so Elle and I went home for a little rest, then were back to pick her up by lunchtime.  After good naps (thank goodness), daddy came home and we all went to dinner together at Izzo's burrito place (yum!).  We ended our day with trunk or treat at a local school.  The girls got SO MUCH CANDY.  It's ridiculous, really.  Not sure what we are going to do with it all!  All the pictures are HERE , but these are a few of my favorites:

Scarlett's class

Her kitty tattoo (she was so proud!)

Her best friend this year, Sophia.  She told me that her big brother was Spiderman too and she wanted to be just like him.

Pumpkin Carving

We've been having so much fun with all our Halloween activities, that we almost forgot pumpkin carving!    We squeezed it in tonight right around dinner.

Hence the little spaghetti face...

I'm trying to get Elle to stick her hand in there.

She thinks...NO WAY!

Scarlett was a good sport this year with cleaning them out (although she wouldn't use her hands either...she needed the scraper)

Leave the carving to the skilled surgeon

This one is all done!

And now there's 2!

Halloween Playdate Party

We had a Halloween party with our old MOMS club friends today.  We don't see most of these guys too often anymore, so it's fun to catch up when we do!
