On Monday, we flew out of NOLA and landed in New York a few hours later. After a LONG cab ride in traffic, we made it into the city and checked into the Waldorf. Our view was awesome!
After getting settled in, we walked around and found a burger place for dinner. Look at those two cuties sharing a shake!
Finally, to round out our first day, we had to go buy Isabelle, the American Girl girl of the year that Scarlett had been talking about for months! When we moved, we counted up all her piggy bank savings and she cashed in for over $100! Isabelle was her choice of what to spend that money on.
On Tuesday we started the day by going to the top of the Empire State Building.
We walked almost everywhere, so on our walk back, we stopped in the New York Public Library.
Next up was lunch at American Girl. They girls couldn't stop gushing over how beautiful everthing was (so much pink! so many flowers!).
Elle borrowed a doll for the lunch. She wasn't too interested in getting one of her own. She opted instead for more pets.
After lunch we headed up a few blocks to FAO Schwartz. Elle picked out a pink dog and made a kitty in the Build a Bear. She considered this wonderful array of dress up dresses to (but ultimately decided on more stuffed animals).
After FAO, we headed down to Rockafeller Center and Times Square (crazy!). We ducked into the Disney store in Times Square, and surveyed the general atmosphere, but didn't last long in the crowds.
On the walk back, we stopped into Grand Central Station for dinner at Junior's...
And treats from Magnolia.
On Wednesday we took the Subway to the Upper West Side where we got breakfast at Good Enough to Eat (awesome orange butter and strawberry butter!) and visited the Museum of Natural History. The girls loved the dinosaurs and enjoyed their first show in a Planetarium.
We stopped off at an Italian restaurant for some late lunch...
Then grabbed Starbucks for a walk through Central Park.
On Thursday we headed down to the Statue of Liberty. Scarlett was really in awe. Elle was scared to death that she might fall in the "yucky water", so spent most of the time freaking out or being carried.
After the Statue of Liberty, we walked around Wall Street, had lunch at the Southstreet Seaport, and walked by the 9/11 memorial before heading back to the hotel. We had dinner at a steakhouse near our hotel (Scarlett insisted on STEAK!).
Friday was another travel day for us, so we hit Sarabeth's on Central Park for brunch (complete with fancy pink juice), then headed to the airport to catch our flight to Boston.
