Snow, Ice and More Snow

It all started Monday around 4.  Schools let out early and the girls were super excited to see the snow start to fall.

Tuesday we woke up to a very white morning.  There was ice covered snow everywhere.

Did I mention it was also Mardi Gras?  We celebrated with some homemade king cake!

The girls couldn't get outside fast enough.

Since the snow was covered in a thick layer of ice, there wasn't much playing to be done.  They wanted to build a snowman, but the snow wouldn't pack, so Scarlett resorted to some snow castles instead.

And Elle just filled buckets and rolled around in it.

It didn't get warm enough to melt it all on Tuesday, so Wednesday was another snow day.  We stayed inside the majority of the day until the afternoon when the girls suddenly remembered there was snow to play in!

Just when we thought it was almost done, the snow started falling again and the yard is once again all white.  We're on snow day #3 here and with temps not coming out of the teens today, I don't have much hope for returning tomorrow!
