Summer has arrived!!

This week has been well in the 80's here. I am happy to have summer here - although I know it means much hotter than the 80's! We have been enjoying our backyard to the fullest while this great weather is here.

I was happy to see that my hibiscus survived it's move from the backyard to the front. I had Scarlett pose for a picture with it. Of course she ripped it's poor petals off while posing, but hey, I got a cute picture before my flower was destroyed! I love this plant!
Scarlett loves to pick flowers, so I let her pull some off my impatients that really went crazy this winter.

Scarlett's head is improving, although we are still sporting some scar revision materials. Silicone sheets recommended by plastic surgeons or something. I don't know...I just stick them to her head - doctor's orders! That's what you get when you are married to a facial surgeon.

Happy weekend everyone!

Weekend Update with Scarlett Ashleigh

A few updates from the weekend:

Scarlett is still sporting her Hello Kitty bandaid. Everyone and their brother looks at her when we are out and says oh, baby got a bo-bo? Yes, she got hurt. Girl knows no fear. It's been 8 days, so that means the bandaid and superglue should come off soon! Yay!

We're starting to get a REAL ponytail going on here! She got her first bath in a week (her superglue can't get wet) and I had to blowdry her hair before she went to sleep! She sat in daddy's lap getting her hair brushed and blow dried while she watched Princesses. She's a true girl :o)

Scarlett has developed an affinity for words beginning with "B". "Bye-bye" with a wave (and usually a purse of some sort on her arm), "bug" -with a stomp of her foot, "bubbles" - her favorite thing to do now, "bird" - or more like "buh", and "baby" - although this one only applies to her baby dolls right now - not sure she's connected it to real babies!

That's about all the news we have from here this weekend! Tomorrow is zoo day!

Pillowcase Dress

Cameron was on call last night, so I decided to try my hand at a new craft project that happened to come up chatting with the girls at playdate yesterday. I've seen these pillowcase dresses in specialty shops (they go for $40+ according to my internet research). I had some fabric laying around, so in about an hour start to finish, Scarlett now has a new cute dress!! This was so easy - I may make her a couple more...haha and one for all her friends!

Happy Easter!

We had a very nice relaxing Easter today (after a harrowing day involving facial trauma yesterday...good thing I married someone who specializes in that kind of thing!). We dyed our Easter eggs last night. I didn't think Scarlett would care too much about it, but she surprised me by being really excited about it all! She had the best time throwing the eggs into the cups of dye and watching daddy fish them out.

We only had time to dye last night, so we left the decorating till this morning. Scarlett - recently obsessed with stickers applied those princesses to the eggs like a pro!
Look how pretty they turned out!
Last night, Scarlett put on her princess pj's and got her Easter basket out for the Easter Bunny and put him out a little snack of carrots. Of course she had to steal one too :)
Once she was tucked away asleep, the Easter Bunny dropped by with her goodies! Her "big" present was a Tinkerbell purse set - complete with cell phone and Mp3 player - that plays THREE fairy songs. Awesome.

Here she is checking out the goods!
She loves this baby chick. It chirps when you hold it in your hand.

Bangle bracelets! YAY! So this is like a 20 piece set and I did not think this one through. These are everywhere! Haha...oh well...all in the name of Easter fun.She had new hairbows in her eggs. Note the carton of goldfish - already opened. That was one of her favorite presents!

We had to go outside pretty much immediately for more bubbles!I made us a beautiful Easter breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes. I even made Scarlett a bunny pancake! Too bad it didn't impress her. She didn't touch it.

Quick costume change - into the EB's dress and Tinkerbell purse. She's ready to go out on the town! Thanks to everyone who sent Easter goodies out to Scarlett! It was like Christmas all over!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!!

Swingset - YAY!

After many long hours of manual labor, Cameron and his dad completed our most awesome of swingsets! Scarlett is thrilled with it!
Loving the swing! She thought it was even more fun when she was in her swing and I was swinging right next to her.

"Vooomm"Getting ready to go down the slide

Here we go!!And trying to climb back up.

Trying her best on the actual steps up to the slide.
Unfortunately after a really warm weekend, as soon as this thing was complete, the weather turned cool! Hence all the winter wear in the pictures. It's only in the 60's today. Brr...

Pedicures & Ponytails

Scarlett had a beauty day on Tuesday. I painted up her toenails - adorable! I also gave her a little ponytail. Haha...it's a pretty little one, but at least she has one!

She loves the toes. She doesn't sit still for ANYTHING, but sat for me to do this. She likes to be prettied up. Loves my makeup and lipgloss too.

One day, baby girl, you will have enough hair for a REAL ponytail :)
