Drumroll please...

And the new baby is a GIRL! At least so we think :o) The doctor's appointment went great yesterday. Scarlett cooperated, Cameron made it in time and most importantly the baby looked great and healthy! We are 98% sure that she's a girl! They are doing another ultrasound at my next appointment next month just to be sure. She almost didn't give it up - she was tucked down right where Scarlett was hiding too. We are so excited! We are working on names now.

Here's her two little feet.

Big YAYs!

That's what Scarlett asks for when she wants me to clap REALLY big for her when she goes on the potty. Today was cause for celebration because today, day 14 of what I like to call "part time" potty training, we went all day in panties with NO accidents! Big YAY YAY YAY! Hope we keep this up!

Also big YAY to the Saints for winning last night! We had a party just the 3 of us with wings, nachos and ice cream sundaes. Scarlett was thrilled to watch "baseball" with daddy. Told her all day and night it was FOOTball, but what can I say, she's a girl and I can't expect her to be an expert on all things sports! We did get her to throw a few "Go Saints" out there :o)

Go Saints!

We like to show our support in a more understated, girly kind of way. Anyone think Scarlett is going to throw on a Brees jersey or a black shirt with a big football on it? Haha, yeah, not in 100 years :o)
I painted this shirt for her last night and she loves it. I think it will double as a Mardi Gras shirt with some purple and green accessories. I'll have to work on that!

Winter Updates

It's cold again. I really hate how the weather teases you with 70-80 degree park days, then all the sudden it drops into the 50's. Yuck! I guess at least we don't have snow here!

We started up potty training again and so far it's going really well. Scarlett seems to have the hang of it and I think with a little more practice she'll REALLY be good to go. We're having minimal accidents (centered around dinner time when I'm busy and not paying attention to when she needs to go) and she's stopping herself before we have a big mess on our hands. I decided hermit potty training was not the way to go, so we do panties in the morning and evening and pull ups while we go out for playdates and for nap time. Wish me luck and hopefully we'll be in panties full time soon!

Last week I went to open house for school for Scarlett. Hard to believe she's old enough for that! I was nervous about sending her, but after meeting the teachers and seeing the classroom I'm really excited! She'll be starting out going 3 days a week for 3 hours a day. The school is St. Philip Neri - a Catholic school that's PreK 2- 7th grade, so hopefully this will be the school she stays at for our entire duration in NOLA. Starting this fall she gets to look forward to art projects, music, centers, outdoor playtime and even enrichment activities. Depending on the day of the week they do PE, computer, Spanish, and library. I go to register her on the 24th so hope that all the Catholics don't fill up the spots before us non-Catholics get there!

The next few weeks are sure to be busy. Not sure if y'all have heard, but the Saints are in the Superbowl! Haha...that's all anyone can talk about down here! Just a couple short weeks away is Valentines Day and Fat Tuesday. Hoping for nice weather for the parades! Stay tuned for many more pictures and updates!

Scarlett + pigtails don't agree

I put Scarlett's hair up in pigtails this morning and I thought she was going to kill me.

But look how CUTE!

"Mommy - hurts head!".
She did do a little admiring in the mirror and hand on hip lips pursed action before she decided they hurt too bad. We'll try again soon!

Weekend with Colin and Melissa

We had a fun weekend with Colin and Melissa down to visit. Scarlett didn't want anything to do with me this weekend because lets face it, they are more fun. Sunday we went to Storyland for a little while.

Scarlett still hasn't stopped asking for "Colin and Lissa." Hope she didn't wear y'all out too bad :o)

2 year checkup

Scarlett finally had her 2 year checkup this morning. She weighs 29 lbs (75th percentile) and is 36 inches (90th percentile). The doctor said she looked perfect! We talked about starting potty training again soon...exciting task. Poor girl did have to get one shot. Apparently she missed out on one of her boosters when there was a nationwide shortage, so she had to catch up today. She was really well behaved the entire time. Even the shot didn't phase her too bad. The nurse stood her right up and told her to march on with her to find the basket of suckers. Scarlett forgot all about that little "hurt". I promised her a "blue ice cream with a straw" aka icee all morning, so I guess I have to deliver on that after nap time. It was a 2 hour endeavor at the pediatrician this morning, so there was no time for that before nap time.
