We took the girls to the Dinosaur Easter Egg hunt at the Museum of Life and Science and they had a great time!

St. Patrick's Day

The girls were super excited for St. Patrick's Day this year.  They were very big on wearing green and even made a leprechaun trap weeks before the actual holiday.  I surprised them with rainbow and gold treats (thanks Pinterest!).

Elle's classroom was filled with leprechaun footprints and he had messed up all their toys.  They also got to learn some Irish dancing!

Colin & Morgan visit

Uncle Colin and Aunt Morgan came to visit us!  We enjoyed our time with them.

Friday night we went to Gravy in downtown Raleigh.  Someone really enjoyed her spaghetti and was SUPER proud of her clean plate club award!

The weather Saturday was rainy, so we went to see Cinderella.  Sunday was nice, so we went to the Duke Gardens before Colin and Morgan left for the airport.

Little Artist

Elle went to a canvas painting party for one of her school friends.  She actually did really well on her Kandinsky painting!

Springtime

Luckily, after all the snow finally cleared, some springtime weather moved in.  The warm days have been scattered, but we have gotten to enjoy the non-freezing temps!

This was about a week after the snow cleared.  Elle is acting crazy laid out on the picnic table, but hey, there's short sleeves!

Getting ready for school on an almost 80 degree day

Park playdate after school

Worst Starbucks date ever!  She ate all her muffin and stole my tea!  Haha...at least she's cute!

Enjoying "no sleeves!"

Showing her team spirit on sports team day at school.

Who doesn't love cookie cake?!?  Especially with that frosting rabbit!

The last of the snow

It's been awhile since I blogged because I couldn't bring myself to even look at more snow pictures!  Once it was all finally done we missed 8 days of school in 2 weeks plus a few early release / late start days too.  After my last snow post, we got 2 more storms, bringing lots more snow.

The first one of the week happened to be on a sick day for Elle.  This was her stomach bug day in bed.

Scarlett fully enjoyed the snow.

Abbie was not super impressed.

Scarlett was even able to make a tiny snow mound snowman.  This snow was very powdery, so not much chance of a big snowman.

Two days later we got hit with about 6 inches.  Elle was better and both girls had a blast playing in this snow.

Abbie, again, unimpressed.

And THIS was some snowman snow!

Snow, Ice and More Snow

It all started Monday around 4.  Schools let out early and the girls were super excited to see the snow start to fall.

Tuesday we woke up to a very white morning.  There was ice covered snow everywhere.

Did I mention it was also Mardi Gras?  We celebrated with some homemade king cake!

The girls couldn't get outside fast enough.

Since the snow was covered in a thick layer of ice, there wasn't much playing to be done.  They wanted to build a snowman, but the snow wouldn't pack, so Scarlett resorted to some snow castles instead.

And Elle just filled buckets and rolled around in it.

It didn't get warm enough to melt it all on Tuesday, so Wednesday was another snow day.  We stayed inside the majority of the day until the afternoon when the girls suddenly remembered there was snow to play in!

Just when we thought it was almost done, the snow started falling again and the yard is once again all white.  We're on snow day #3 here and with temps not coming out of the teens today, I don't have much hope for returning tomorrow!
