A few events from May

Wow...it's already June 1st!  Where has the spring gone??

Scarlett ended her track out with breakfast at Chickfila.

Our pool opened and it has been freezing!  The girls are loving it though!

We've had some hot days, but also some nice ones, so we've enjoyed the playground and riding bikes.

Scarlett took a test to skip a grade in math.  She studied hard and even though we won't know the results for a few weeks, we took her for ice cream to celebrate the test being over!

Scarlett had 70's day at school.  We got the closest thing to tie-dye that Target sells, added a peace sign necklace that she just COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT when she was about 5 and in Claire's, and looked up "hippie" hair on Pinterest.  We straightened it and added a few braids in it.  She's been very interested in the 1970's, asking what they ate back then and if they needed to write with a feather and ink pot!

Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day this year.  Cameron and the girls sent me some beautiful flowers and got me new flip flops.  The girls made me a banner and cards that were so sweet!  We had a great brunch out at Tupelo Honey and spent the day riding around town.  We ended at Lowe's to get a gardenia "tree" for our patio.  Cameron grilled steaks for dinner and the girls made the salad and baked potatoes (with a little help of course).

Beach trip!

We fully enjoyed our weekend in Edisto Beach with friends!  We spent 3 nights at the beach house together and had a great time catching up.  The girls made instant best friends (hard not to when the older ones are 1 month apart and the younger ones are 2 weeks apart!).  We can't wait to make it a tradition!

The guys with our Low Country Boil (so delicious!)

And the kids

The babies were not enjoying picture time!

Camping

We are easing into this whole camping idea.  Last fall we didn't make it off our back porch, but this time we made it to a real campsite!  It was about 6 or 7 miles from our house, so easy exit if needed.  We barely beat the rain, so we got there around 6 Friday night and left by 9 the next morning.  The girls really enjoyed it though!

We set up the tent...

Then made some camping dinner, followed by smores over the campfire.

Sleep...

Then we woke up, packed up as it sprinkled and then went on a quick hike.  Just enough camping for me (since I'm SO outdoorsy and all!)

April in a nutshell

It's been a month since I blogged!  So much for back in the swing of things!  We've had some great weather, so we've enjoyed:

Summer dresses

 Lots of outside playtime

Earth Day

And Scarlett lost her 4th tooth!  She lost this one at school.  Scarlett's teacher told her it gave her the heebie jeebies, so they found a willing kindergarten teacher to yank it out!

Easter Egg decorating

No tears!!  How old should you be to properly dye eggs with no drama, no tears and no orange fingers?  SEVEN.  The answer is seven.  Eggs went really well today!  Elle cracked one egg, spilled some dye (luckily we were outside!) and her fingers will be orange for awhile, but had a good time anyway.  Scarlett cracked none and did some amazing half and half dying work on her eggs.  Works of art this year!  Elle just can't wait to eat them!

Dino Egg Hunt

We took the girls to the Dinosaur Easter Egg hunt at the Museum of Life and Science and they had a great time!
