Elle's 12 month appointment

Elle had her 12 month checkup today. I remembered this one as the worst one from going through it with Scarlett. Elle screamed from the second they set her on the scale until we walked out of that office. She did not want ANYONE to touch her (except me of course). Of course the toe prick and 4 shots (one in each limb) didn't help matters. She was happy as could be as soon as we were out of there though. And she's sleeping it off right now. She's 20 lbs 8 oz (45%) and 30 inches (75%). Doctor said she looks great! We are going to turn her car seat around now too since she's pressing her feet against the back of the seat.

Recipe Share - Chicken Burritos

We love these....obviously!! The girls are actually eating the leftovers... Scarlett asks for these ALL THE TIME. Here's the original recipe with my changes in ( )

Chicken Burritos:

1 can corn (I omit)

1 can black beans

1 jar (or 16 oz or so) salsa

3 chicken breasts (I use boneless skinless thighs)

1/2 packet taco seasoning

Cheese (your choice)

Tortillas

Combine corn, beans, salsa, seasoning and chicken in crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours. When finished cooking, mix everything in crockpot (which will help tear chicken into pieces). Put cheese on top and cook for a few more minutes until cheese is melted. Place into tortillas and eat. You can add tomatoes, sour cream or whatever other toppings you like.

Princess Jammies

I just love when I can dress Elle in something that Scarlett wore and loved. Elle is just as thrilled with the princesses as Scarlett was!

STEPS!!!

Elle started taking steps yesterday! She will go about 5 or 6 steps to me or Cameron. Yay!

What we're in to

BARBIES! It's the only thing the girls want to play with. Elle especially loves to sit all the way in the Barbie bin. Scarlett spends hours changing them, lining them up, playing "this is the good girl, this is the bad girl, this is the prince....the bad girl is going to try to break up the wedding with some sort of sleeping potion!". They also love the Barbie movies.

Elle got her very own Barbie with some of her birthday money the other day. Loves her. She's so very pink.

And I've been trying to get back into sewing. I made the girls some princess pillowcase dresses. My model did not cooperate for a picture :o)

Scarlett and I made a bear together. She's very fancy.

We have a ONE YEAR OLD!!

Wow...this year has gone fast, yet then again, I can't hardly remember life without our sweet Elle! We celebrated her "Actually Birthday" (as Scarlett likes to say) on Friday. The girls and I went for a walk in the park in the morning. After Elle's afternoon nap, we went with friends to the Children's Museum. Cameron got off a little early, so we gave Elle her presents, had Chickfila for dinner (yep, Elle eats chicken nuggets too!), and then enjoyed the giant funfetti cupcake cake that Scarlett and I made!

She got her very own princess - Aurora. LOVES HER.

Happy 4th!

No big plans for us today, but we did manage to do most of the things you are supposed to do on the 4th - swim, grill, and eat watermelon :o) No fireworks for us though...these little munchkins just can't stay up til it's dark.
