Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving visiting family in California.  We flew into Los Angeles on Wednesday.  The flight itself went really well.  Everything was on time and the girls did great for the 3 1/2 hour flight.  We hit some traffic and delays once we got into LA and didn't make it to Grandpa's house until dinnertime.  We were excited to see everyone once we finally made it!  We had a great dinner on Thursday at the Pierpont Inn.  There was a great view of the ocean and the buffet was delicious!  We had about 20 people there with us.  We spent the rest of Thursday and Friday visiting with the family at Grandpa's house.  The girls met some second cousins and were just thrilled to have kids their age to play with.  Scarlett and Brooklyn (only 10 days apart) especially formed that "cousin bond".  Friday we ventured down into LA to get ready for our return flight and went to play at the Santa Monica pier for a little while.  The girls were so happy that daddy won them prizes in the games booth, then we all rode the ferris wheel.  We really timed it right because as we were right at the top, we saw the sun set over the Pacific.  After dinner at Bubba Gump, we went back to the hotel to rest up and fly home.  Sunday was a long day of travel, but again, the girls did great!

It appears I am out of storage for pictures on the blog, so I'm going to have to see what to do about that...  In the mean time, here's the pictures on facebook:

Thanksgiving Parties

Today was the last day of school before Thanksgiving break, so I had 2 parties to attend!  First up was Elle's grandparent's day.  We watched them sing 2 songs (ok, so the teacher sang and no one else!) and then made a turkey craft with them.

Next up was Scarlett's Thanksgiving Feast

My other little Indian princess

They sang a few songs and told a story.

They each had Indian names.  Scarlett's was Pond Princess.

Then they ate!  Cane's chicken fingers...just like the real first Thanksgiving ;o)

Elle got herself all dressed up yesterday. She came to me and said "I ready go. Bye bye!" Where did she have in mind? Well a super spectacular tea party of course!

Good Question

We were talking about what to have for dinner and decided on jambalaya. Scarlett asked "did Jesus eat jambalaya?"

Trick or Treating

We went trick or treating door to door last night in a neighborhood in Lakeview.  It was a lot of fun!

Here's the girls getting ready

Our trick or treating crew

Starting door to door

Once we got home with all our of candy, we sent a text to the Halloween Fairy to ask her to come to our house.  The girls picked 5 pieces to keep and the fairy ate all the rest.  As a thank you, she left the girls Velveteen Rabbits, a new coloring book, stickers and a pack of oreos.  The girls were THRILLED with the trade!

Halloween Parties

Today Scarlett and Elle had their Halloween parties at school.  Scarlett sang songs and posed for pictures for the parents, then they had grandparent's day.  Coco was able to come into town so Scarlett had a fun morning showing her around her classroom and decorating pumpkins together.

Here's the whole class

Elle had a little song and dance session, snack and a craft with me.  As soon as I walked through the door she came and was stuck like glue to my side until we left.  All the other kids stayed in the circle to participate in the song, but Elle did every other move stuck to my side.

Here she is growing like a pumpkin

And making her jack o lantern

Can't wait for more Halloween fun tonight!
