Peanuts are not our friend

We've always known that Scarlett and peanut butter did not get along.  Every time she's eaten it, she's thrown up.  I mentioned it to her pediatrician at her 4 year old checkup and she wanted her to get tested for an allergy.  I really thought (hoped) it would just turn out that she's 4 and dramatic and REALLY doesn't like peanut butter.  The scratch test showed, however, that she IS allergic.  The good news is that she did really well with the test.  She didn't fuss at all (thankful that wasn't too traumatic!).  The worst part was waiting 15 minutes while her arm itched her like crazy!  Now we just avoid all peanuts and hope that she grows out of it.  In the meantime, we have benadryl and an epi pen, just in case.  Luckily she doesn't have to give up peanut oil yet (which to us means Chickfila) because in the good oil, all peanut protein is removed.  We just watch that closely for any reaction.

She was rewarded for her efforts.  She's named this little guy "Little Pokey", just like the little pokey things that scratched her arm at the doctor.
