Plan B

After 3 horrific days (today was the WORST!), we gave up "panty bootcamp" and we've moved on to a gentler approach. We've switched to pull ups (after wetting 13 pairs of panties in a few hours this morning, I was OVER the puddles). She's been doing amazing with the actual process - sitting on the potty, wiping, washing her hands and has been excited about the panties, but I don't think she's physically mature enough to hold it for very long. That's very frustrating for her because she knows what to do and what the idea is, but she can't do it - she's wetting a little bit every few minutes. Anyway, we hung up the headache and moved on to pull ups which let her feel when she's wet so maybe she can gradually learn what that means. Anyway, panty bootcamp is on hold until January, but we'll still be working with the potty and the pull ups every day till then! She was VERY happy to be able to get out of the house today (my very social child was ALSO very upset by the fact that we were sitting here every day). She had a ball in Target and was screaming (yes, literally) when I pulled her out of the toy aisle. We're off to the park tomorrow!

Doing what we do best :o) Shopping at TARGET! And yes, I think Santa will be bringing this beautiful pink kitchen this year!

Potty update

It's a wet wet world over here! Things have been messy these past few days, but Scarlett seems to know the process - just hasn't quite grasped the whole "when I need to go" thing. Our first trip to the potty yesterday Scarlett told ME what to do! I put panties on her, sat her down and she told me, "mommy, potty" then grabbed a wipe, wiped exactly where she was supposed to, threw it away, stood up and said "mommy, hands" and we washed her hands. We've had a few successful peepees in the potty (1 yesterday, 2 today - Cameron says that's my progress!) and many many MANY puddles on the floor. Good thing I decided to keep us contained downstairs on the hard floors as much as possible. Slow going here, but hopefully in the next week (or two, or three) we'll officially be diaper free! Wish us luck!!

Preparing for Potty

So tomorrow marks a BIG day for me and Scarlett. We're starting potty training! We went to Target today and picked out new big girl panties - Tinkerbell, Sleeping Beauty and Hello Kitty. We bought the fancy bright pink foaming handsoap. We bought the fancy flushable wipes. There are stickers to last months here - all Halloween scaries of course! I printed a free potty chart as a place to show off all those ghosts, witches and goblins. I need some mini M&M's too, but unfortunately couldn't find them at Target . We're heading out first thing tomorrow to get all our errands for the week done and as soon as we return home, we're here to stay and sit with our new pretty panties and fancy potty. WISH US LUCK!!!!! I'll post updates as we go along.

Bye bye RSX, Hello GTI!

So Cameron's check engine light came on this week and well, that ended up snowballing into a new car! His car is 8 years old, so it's at that point of, oh just $1,000 to fix this, oh and did I mention you may be needing a $700 that... Well, you get the point. Instead of throwing money into that, we decided to cut our losses and get a new car (with a warranty!). After MANY hours at the VW dealership, Cameron is now the proud owner of a brand new GTI.

A very happy daddy and less than thrilled Scarlett (she only had a 1 hour nap today and that was at 4:00). Although she was VERY well behaved at the dealership.

Did I mention she was O-V-E-R it? "Side mommy side". The two of them are sitting out there in the car playing and putting stuff in it's right place as I type.

Craft Obsessed

I mean seriously. Here's the latest creation - a wipes case:

I just love the "towels" as Scarlett says. That's owls for the rest of us.
