We went to Barnes and Noble on Friday to pick up a prize for the girls for their good dental checkups. While we were there we saw a form for their summer reading program. The kids (technically 1st -6th grade) read any 8 books and write them down and they can pick a free book. Scarlett was super excited so she read all 8 (picture books and first readers) on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. We went back to Barnes and Noble on Saturday for her to pick her free book. She decided she wanted a chapter book, so she got Nancy Clancy. She came home and started reading, then read for an hour after I put her to bed last night. About 8:30 she yelled "Mom! I'm on chapter 5 page 2!" She has been SO proud of herself! And we are pretty proud of her too :)
